- The most important thing i like about my University is the amazing Library. It's a 14 floor building with individual and group study rooms, great collection of books and excellent service.
- The neighborhood of the University is quite calm which is another aspect that makes me want to stay within the campus.
- The lush green trees in and around the campus which are well-maintained make it a great sight during all seasons of the year.
Dislikes
- The weather sometimes gets unpredictable and it's hard to attend classes in peak winters.
- The faculty could be improved.
- The intake of students can be filtered out by ensuring quality over quantity.
Campus Life
- My college has 6 campuses and mine is the main campus.
- Kent state university - Kent Campus, East Liverpool campus, Astabula campus, Stark campus, Tuscarawas, Trumbull.
- There is a stellar Library, recreation center with gym, indoor and outdoor stadiums, and a Health center.
- Major campus festivals include Black Squirrel festival which is a once in a year celebration including marathons, charity, other cultural parades.
- There are multiple Student organizations and some of them are purely for Indian Students such as KIA, KIDA.
Accommodation
- I opted for off-campus accommodation. For this, I enrolled in a telegram group for housing and reached out to the concerned rental agency.
- The monthly rent for a 2bhk in our community is $1430 with all the facilities like gas, electricity, washers and dryers, internet included.
- There were absolutely zero challenges in finding the house.
- Yes, always lookout for the right roommates and keep your expenses at check. Do not spend more on the housing when there are good options within the budget.
- My accommodation is about 1.8 miles from the main college building and 1.5 miles from where my classes are held. Most Indian graduate students stay off-campus in different communities. There is not one specific area where you'd find maximum Indians.

Likes
- It's the state of the art campus with impressive infrastructure.
- Flexibility in choosing the courses and mode of the classes to attend.
- Few excellent professors.
Dislikes
- Inclement weather is discouraging sometimes.
- Accommodation provided by the college is expensive (for those who are thinking about staying on campus).
- Transportation provided by the college is good, could be better. (It's free though).
Campus Life
- Kent state university has eight campuses. Ashtabula, Colombiana, Salem, Geagua, Kent, Stark, Trumbull, Tuscarawas.
- We free bus facility, recreational and wellness center facility and access to library.
- The medical insurance costs about 1800 dollars per semester.
- We have majority of the sports clubs, and festivals like Diwali and Holi are being celebrated very well here.
Accommodation
- I used online platform to get the accommodation.
- The monthly rent was 310 dollars for 2 bedroom and 1 and a half bathroom apartment which include the refrigerator, air conditioner, free heater and wi-fi.
- I would suggest the future students to secure accommodation off-campus since it's affordable and spacious as well.
- It's a 10 minute walk from out apartment. Most of the students either stay at Holly park apartments, Genesis, Ryan's place or Eagle's landing.

- It is a public university. They have diverse international students from all over the world.
- Facilities provided to international students, which make it easy for ongoing processes and finding new things across the campus.
- Faculties here are very helpful and they try to not give much stress to the academic curriculum.
Dislikes
- Location- Kent is a small town which limits the job search within the city as compared to major cities like California, and Seattle.
- Weather- Kent is located in the north side of Ohio which experiences long winters, and as an Indian, I don't like it much.
- Parking Issues- Many students complain about the parking space as it is limited, most of the students park their vehicles near the stadium and then come by bus.
Campus Life
- Events and Fests: Kent State hosts a variety of events and festivals throughout the year.
Popular ones include: FlashFest: A large annual festival featuring live music, food vendors, and activities to kick off the school year. Homecoming: Includes a parade, football game, and various student activities celebrating school spirit and alumni. International Education Week: Celebrates cultural diversity with events, performances, and international food tastings. Kaleidoscope: An annual showcase of student talent, including music, dance, and performances.
Accommodation
- Many first-year students choose on-campus housing for convenience and proximity to classes. On-campus options include dormitories with various amenities like meal plans, laundry facilities, and communal spaces. University Housing Portal: For on-campus options.
- Online Platforms: Websites like Zillow, Apartments.com, and Rent.com are popular for off-campus housing. Student Groups: Many students join groups on platforms like Discord or Telegram to connect with other students and find roommates or housing leads. Facebook groups for Kent State international students are also commonly used.

- Very well behaved and friendly faculties of the college.
Campus Life
Campus life is pretty safe and comfortable at Kent State. Kent State has the largest library with ample amount of resources for students, you can easily issue all your course-related books from there, they do have separate study rooms, and group study rooms. Kent State's environment is very open to accepting international students. They organise all Indian festivals such as Holi, Diwali, etc.
Accommodation
So, in order to get good accommodation I would advise there are Indian associations available for many international universities. These associations help you with everything i.e. getting accommodation, contacting and communicating with people from similar courses or backgrounds, picking you up from the airport, dropping you at your respective location, providing you with a university tour, etc.

- The professor's infrastructure and oportunity to grow and enable yourself in good environemnt. Library was awesome , i felt rarely to come back to home form library. Kent state university exceeded my expectation, it was too good that what i think
Dislikes
- Nothing much, it was a small university with limited research help, but still if you want to grow there is a lot of chance here. There is a lot of support from department side and there help you in a friendly manner.
Campus Life
Kent has a peaceful environment; it looks like a countryside place where there is a rare traffic issue.
Accommodation
I lived in a 2 BHK apartment in kent, near to the university. All basic needs are available at the next step here.

- Good University, and most of the visa officers have a good impression on this one.

- The course curriculum and lab work offered as a part of the program I've chosen has been the major reason of my inclination towards this university. It provides numerous opportunities on campus for students to pursue a part time job that really helps in managing their living expenses.
- The university provides a lot of facilities in terms of transportation, recreation, medical, food, groceries etc at nominal prices. The culture here is extremely diverse and accepting. There are a lot of events held to honor different traditions and beliefs.
Dislikes
- This university does not offer scholarships of any kind. This is one thing that I dislike. I personally feel that the effort put by the university to create networking platforms with working professionals is nearly negligible.
Campus Life
There are numerous clubs and associations that display inclusivity and are great hubs of learning and growth. The library is a great resource ,it is well equipped with the latest reading and technology. There is a rec center which has a lot of modern amenities.
Accommodation
I stay off campus in a 2bhk apartment, shared with 3 other people .I pay around 270 USD for rent and 30 USD for electricity.
Accommodation
I like living off-campus better. I live in a house close to campus with a friend. I have my own room, a porch, a kitchen, a living room, a dining room, one and a half bathrooms, and a sunroom so a lot of space.
It's close to my hometown. I also like the programs it offers and it has a pretty campus. I knew kids who went there before me too. So that really pulled me in. There are good professors too and others.
The fashion program is the third in the country behind New York and Los Angeles and they gave me scholarships and have a really good program. I also like it because it is no too far away from my home town, but far enough that it gives me the college experience.
