What Students Say
Likes
- I Like the environment around the campus, one most thing I enjoyed was quarter system, Diversity of Drexel, Drexel Univeristy provide alot of scholarships program which students can apply and get one of them, Different association which new students can participate and meet their co-students and make network.
- I was the part of one of their organization (IGSA).
Dislikes
- I will not say that i dislike anything about Drexel, because I enjoyed my 2 years of journey their and i cherish every moment. One I felt was selecting people in any organization should handle by advisor of the association not the students. That way you can create good team to organize events.
Course Curriculum
- The courses were difficult but explained in detail with practical labs, so they will be helpful in the job opportunities. I would say a positive aspect was class length (3 hours of class) and a negative aspect was the same 3-hour class, which felt like too much for the day or for the same class. so, for me, 2 classes a day or 1 class a day—it depends on courses and quarters. Number of students varies over courses, with a maximum of between 25 and 35 students per class or sometimes less to 20. There are around 10-15 Indian students in my course.
Admission Experience
- I Applied to Four universities, which are New Jersey Institute of Technology, stevens, Rutgers University, and Drexel University, and got acceptance from all four of them. But I chose Drexel for the maximum credit programme and quarter system. Also, Its located in downtown and I wanted to enjoy the environment of downtown at philadelphia. Other colleges provide fewer credits than Drexel.
- Steps were to send the IELTS score; the minimum score was a 6.5 band to get in. Admission experience was so good and quick; advisors were very prompt, which i liked a lot. They helped me throughout the process!
- I applied for the fall 2021 intake. Factors I would like to mention are that Drexel provides 6 months Co-op programme so students can have opportunities to experience practical things. Also, I discovered that Drexel has a very strong academic reputation so I can sharpen my mind studying under those professors. The admission process took around 1 and a half months, which includes the submission of my application and all documents which were required, and I got my offer letter. All advisors were so helpful with prompt responses to my email.
Faculty
- The faculty-to-student ratio in my course is about 1:20, allowing for good interaction and personalized support. Professors use a mix of lectures, projects, and industry tools, which prepares us well for jobs.
- Some faculty do assist with job connections through their networks. I admire professors who blend real-world experience with teaching, making classes engaging and career-focused. Overall, my experience with all the faculty members was unforgettable. I had a friendly connection with some of them. Great faculty members at Drexel.
Campus Life

- Queen Lane Campus: Located in the East Falls neighborhood, it houses first- and second-year medical students.

Part Time Jobs
- At Drexel, TA, RA, and DA positions are competitive, often available to graduate or advanced undergrad students. Pay ranges from $15–$26/hour for TAs and $14–$21/hour for RAs. Other on-campus jobs like in dining or admin pay $10–$15/hour. Students can work up to 20 hours/week during classes and 40 hours/week during breaks. Securing jobs requires networking and early application.
- Indian students at Drexel prefer on-campus jobs like TAs, RAs, and positions in dining or administration. Pay ranges from $10–$26/hour depending on the job. Students can work up to 20 hours/week during term and 40 hours during breaks. To apply, students search Drexel's job portal, submit resumes, attend interviews, and complete onboarding if selected
Placement
- After completing my course at Drexel, many students secure full-time roles in industries like tech, engineering, and healthcare. About 90% of graduates find employment within 6 months. Average salaries range from $60K–$80K. Students typically find jobs through campus recruitment, internships, and networking. Companies hiring graduates include Amazon, Google, and Johnson & Johnson for roles in software development and engineering.
Accommodation
- Once I got an offer from Drexel, I started searching for off-campus accommodation, getting into whatsapp groups, telegram and more. From there, I found one accommodation that was near campus. Walking a distance to my department building, grocery stores nearby. Very flexible and relaxing. However, finding a safe and affordable place was challenging. So I would recommend starting to find accommodation as soon as possible and connecting with your co-students and starting to make a network.
Exams
- I appeared for IELTS because Drexel requires an English proficiency test. So I submitted my IELTS score to Drexel. Some required documents I would like to mention here were the Statement of Purpose (SOP), Letters of Recommendation (LORs), academic transcripts, and a CV (resume). Lastly, there were no interviews at my time for the application process. There were admissions based on my academic record, IELTS score, overall profile and so on. To conclude, no interview had happened with me.
Fees
- Drexel University charges around $60,000 per year for tuition, billed quarterly at approximately $20,000 per term. Housing costs about $11,200 annually, and meals around $6,800. Including books, transportation, and personal expenses, the estimated monthly cost is about $2,300. Fees are charged on a per-term basis, not yearly or credit-based. Financial aid is widely available.
Scholarship
- Yes, I received scholarships/fellowships!
- I received a 10-15% scholarship on my total tuition fees in 2 years and I was so happy with it. Drexel provides a lot of scholarships for students so they can afford the fees. So I applied all of that. when I got my offer letter, their only time I got the fellowship for each quarter.
