What Students Say?
Likes
- Campus is pretty diverse and students are always onto something haha
- Faculty is helpful and good at what they do. Teaching is v important and I found it to be top tier
Dislikes
- I wish there were more activities outside of regular university co curriculars. Would have loved to explore more
- More social events where I could network more. Maybe I needed to sign up for more so I guess more marketing of those events?
I had taken the SATs and applied for Drexel University alongside 4 other universities (Texas A&M, NYU, Purdue, and Penn State). I got in all the above listed and got deferred in NYU. The application process specifically for Drexel was pretty straightforward. I had to submit my SAT score, write 2 essays, and fill out the application form, and financial aid form. I had applied early decision.
Course Curriculum
I had to complete 180 credits. One class was usually 3-4 credits but there were classes that were 1-2 and sometimes 0 credit as well. I had full control over the range of classes I wanna sign up for which really helped me balance my courseload The faculty-Student ratio was on average 1:20.
Placement
There are multiple employers that come on campus and on co-op websites which you can really make use of. Goldman, big four, wall street etc etc linked in and college resources will be your best friends looking for employers. Attend networking events for sure! The average package can be anywhere from $70-90k
Internship
I loved all my co-ops. My experience working with the company was extremely positive. It really gives you a real-life job scenario that you can take back when you graduate and look for your dream job. AmeriSource Bergen - FP&A Macquarie Investment Management - Sales Strategy Analyst
Fees
Western Union was used as a medium to pay course fees usually via a check. It was pretty straightforward forward and the fee could also have been paid in person to the Cashier department in the Main Building I received a 100% scholarship for a 5 year 3 co-op program Other expenses include books, housing, food, and travel which comes to about 20-25lakhs INR in total
Scholarship
There are multiple ways to apply for scholarships. One is merit-based and one is need-based. I highly suggest applying for both. There's also the STAR scholar program and other programs where you could get 100% scholarships I recommend having a good score in your 10th, 11th, 12th and SAT + a good application + genuine financial need to avail the scholarship you truly deserve
Faculty
I had to complete 180 credits. One class was usually 3-4 credits but there were classes that were 1-2 and sometimes 0 credit as well. I had full control over the range of classes I wanna sign up for which really helped me balance my courseload The faculty-student ratio was on average 1:20.
Campus Life
Campus life is very lively and very fun. Something or the other is always happening haha You'll find a lot of international students as well Infrastructure is pretty modern but at the same time some buildings are archaic so it's a good mix Sports facilities could be better, to be honest There were a lot of South Asian clubs so highly recommend those :)
Hostel
I opted for college housing at first: Kelly Hall, and then I looked around for housing on campus at 3175 JFK. Off-campus might make it harder to commute so I suggest finding places on campus closer to classes. Meal plans might be expensive so after one year of opting for them I opted out and chose to cook my own food but if that's something you can't do, then highly suggest opting for meal plans on campus.
