Required Exams for Admission

TOEFL (107)
GRE (317)

I chose this university as one of the senior completed his master's from the same university and the university was reputable. Plus the buildings were old school like Hogwarts. Also, some scene from Star Wars was shot outside the stadium called Carrier Dome.

Course Curriculum

7

If your core engineering concepts are clear then try to diversify your coursework as much as possible for a challenging curriculum.

Faculty

7

The student-to-faculty ratio is bad in core courses for faculty which are known to be lenient but otherwise, it's good. One of the core courses was DSA and the professor I chose for it was Prof Souchitra. She was phenomenal in teaching graphs, DP, Trees and more but now I have heard from my juniors that something is off in her teaching.

Campus Life

8

Syracuse University is notorious for its parties, but don't fall into its trap since it's mostly the undergrad students having fun. The facilities are modern, and you won't be disappointed.

Placement

6

Since the university is in a small city, not many opportunities are present but since there is a big microchip company micron facility coming up chances are higher for post-study placement.

Accommodation

Off Campus
6

There were many off-campus apartments available with the lowest starting from 1200 USD per month per apartment to 3000 and above. Compared to big cities rent is much cheaper and the cost of living is much lower in a small University town like Syracuse.

Exams

- My GRE score was 317, TOEFL 107, and CGPA 7.78, No GRE score is required though. - 10th - 10CGPA; 12TH - 87.6%; BTech - 7.78; MS - 3.22 - Requirements: 1 SOP and 3 LOR were submitted. Mention in the SoP your motive for a master's and try to get good recommendations from professors.

Fees

Tuition fees was around 55k with a 10% scholarship.
