• Students must have passed the 10+2 level examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any of the two following subjects: Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Biology/Informatics, with at least 55% marks in the aggregate.
• For the Biotechnology specialisation, students must have Physics with Biology/Biotechnology with a minimum of 50% marks
• Selections are made based on the performance in the CUCET entrance examination conducted by the university.

Chandigarh University Lucknow offers Ph.D program across various disciplines. A total of 21 courses are provided for a 3-year duration. The cost of each semester for Ph.D in Computer Science program is INR 65,000. Whereas the cost of Ph.D in other departments for each semester is INR 54,000. • A 1-year/2-semester master's degree programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme with at least 55% marks in aggregate or 5.5 CGPA.
• Or a 2- year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree programme with at least 55% marks in aggregate or 5.5 CGPA.
• Or equivalent in the relevant master’s degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate or CGPA 5.5
• Or, a candidate who has completed a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree program with a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or 7.5 CGPA.
• A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates.

• Students need to appear for Chandigarh University Lucknow -Ph.D Entrance Test followed by a personal Interview.
• Applicants who have qualified UGC (NET/ JRF)/ CSIR (NET/ JRF) examination/a valid GATE or GPAT scorecard, or passed M.Phil. The Programme (in Regular mode only) is exempted from CU-Ph.D. Entrance Test.

CUCET 2026

Chandigarh University entrance exam (CUCET) is an online eligibility cum scholarship test conducted by the university. Students applying for B.Tech, B.Pharmacy, MBA/Specialised MBA programs, Integrated Law Programs (BA + LLB, BBA+ LLB), Master of Laws (LLM), Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and Specialised MCA Programs need to appear for the CUCET exam. Students need to have the following eligibility criteria in order to apply for the CUCET:

• UG applicants must have at least 50% marks in the 10+2 level examination.
• For PG applicants, 50% marks in a graduation degree are mandatory.

Students with more than 90% marks in their last qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) or a rank of up to 50,000 in JEE are exempted from CUCET. Students appearing for this national-level entrance examination are also eligible for up to 100% scholarships.

Here are some important details regarding the Chandigarh University CUCET:

• CUCET is conducted in two phases: Phase I & Phase II.
• Students are allowed to appear in both phases.
• Two attempts are allowed under each phase.
• To appear in the CUCET Phase II, an additional fee of INR 500 needs to be paid.

• There will be 100 MCQs to be attempted in 120 minutes.
