A maximum of 10% total intake seats in each Course shall be offered under the scholarship scheme for PG Courses.

Note: For renewal of scholarship, it is mandatory for the students admitted under all the above schemes to have to maintain a minimum of 7.5 CGPA in the regular semester exam (Year in case of Pharm D. Program) at the first chance without any semester/Year drop in case of Pharma. D Program (with NO “E”, “F”,” I" or "Not Qualified" grades) failing which the scholarship shall be discontinued.
Other Concession Schemes
- Gyan Kashi Scholarship Policy for Varanasi Students: The Scholarship is offered to deserving children belonging to the Sikh Community in Varanasi.
- Single Girl Child Concession: A 10% concession on yearly fees to a single girl child for the entire course duration under the Single Girl Child Concession.
- Teacher's Ward Concession: A 10% concession on yearly fees to the wards of teachers for the entire duration of the course (Teachers of Govt. / Govt. recognized schools/ colleges/ universities) provided a teacher should have at least one year of regular service under Chandigarh University. Under this scheme, a maximum of 50 % of total seats in each course shall be offered.
- Sibling Concession: A l0% sibling concession is offered to one of the siblings studying at Chandigarh University, till the time both the siblings are studying in the university. However, the concession will be allowed to continue even after the passing out of one sibling.
- Concession to Girl Sibling: Chandigarh University offers a 10% concession on yearly fees to both female siblings for the entire course duration.
- Concession under the Armed Forces Educational Welfare Scheme (AFEWS) for Wards/Spouse of Defence Personnel: As a part of the social responsibility towards special sections of society, Chandigarh University offers Reservation cum Fee Waiver Scheme for Defence Personnel, wards, and their spouses. A 5% of seats are reserved for the wards and spouses of Defence Martyrs and their immediate dependent members at Chandigarh University. Concession details are mentioned below:
- Concession equivalent to 15% of the yearly fee for the war widows and wards of war casualties, war injured and released defence personnel, spouse and their wards, war disabled defence personnel, getting superannuated, spouse and their wards.
- Concession equivalent to 10% of the yearly fee for the wards/Spouse of serving and retired defence personnel.
- Concession equivalent to 10% of the yearly fee for the wards/Spouse of paramilitary forces personnel.
- Officers on Study Leave: A Concession equivalent to 20% Semester fee will be given to Defense officers in service who want to take up the courses during their study leave and will be separately offered 1% seats subject to a minimum of I seat in each course.
- Concession for Chandigarh University Staff: A 50% concession in academic fees will be offered to the Wards/Spouses and real brothers/sisters of Chandigarh University staff having at least one year of regular service.
- Orphan Concession: Under Orphan Concession, a 20% concession is offered to the candidate. Further, a 10% concession will be given in the case of Single Parent.
- Alumni Scholarship: A 10% concession will also be allowed to the real brother/ sister/spouse/Wards of the alumni student of Chandigarh university.
Note(s):
- If the scholarship gets discontinued in 1 year due to not maintaining the mandatory requirements and in the next year if the student maintains the minimum mandatory criteria, the student can apply for the scholarship again. However, the student would be eligible for only 50% of the earlier sanctioned scholarship in the consequent year of study.
- Scholarship scheme swapping is not allowed.
- The student can’t avail of multiple scholarships.
- In case of a query regarding a student’s marks percentage, the Admission team member may contact the scholarship department.
- Student scholarship documents must be verified by the admission counselor with signature and E-code before applying for a scholarship on CUIMS.

Ques. What are the eligibility criteria for the Gyan Kashi Scholarship?
Ans. The students belonging to the Sikh community in Varanasi who have passed senior secondary from any state or central recognized board are eligible to avail of the scholarship. Also, students belonging to the Sikh community in Varanasi who have passed Graduation from any state or central-recognized University are eligible for the Gyan Kashi Scholarship for higher education at Chandigarh University.
Ques. Are there any additional criteria for availing of the scholarship at Chandigarh University?
Ans. Yes, the following criteria must be met by the candidates to be eligible for the scholarship at Chandigarh University:
- Family income shall not exceed INR 5,00,000 per annum and a valid income certificate from the competent authority of the area is to be annexed with the application for admission.
- A 50% scholarship will be allowed up to 250 students on a first come first served basis.
- The policies of Chandigarh University, Lucknow shall be adhered to for the continuation of the scholarship next year.
- Students must have valid address and ID proof of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
- Scholarship will be applicable on academic fees only.
