Course Curriculum Overview:
I chose BAMS mostly by chance because there was a common entrance exam for all medical systems, and unfortunately I couldn’t get an MBBS seat. So, I decided to go with BAMS, and honestly, it turned out to be a good decision. Before taking admission, I did not know much about Ayurveda, just like many other students. Most of us got information about it from family, friends, school teachers, or through the internet and social media.
The course curriculum is good, but I feel some improvements are needed to make it more practical and useful for students. Subjects like Shalya Tantra, Dravyaguna Vigyana, Agada Tantra, and Samhita can be updated with more modern clinical knowledge. Some other subjects like Shalakya Tantra, Kayachikitsa, and Stri Roga evam Prasuti Tantra also need better practical exposure.
Sometimes the syllabus feels too theory-based, and students need more hands-on learning to understand real clinical situations. If modern concepts and practical training are added more effectively, it will help students become more confident and better prepared for their future careers.
