IACS Kolkata offers an integrated program (BSc + MSc) as its flagship program. To be admitted to this program, candidates must appear in the UPST (Undergraduate Pre-Interview Screening Test) and qualify for the test. Apart from this test, it also requires 10+2 with the science stream.
Besides, the BSc + MSc IACS Kolkata also offers the MSc + PhD and Phd programs. The Eligibility criteria for an MSc + Phd integrated program are graduation with a minimum of 55%.
And for the PhD program, the eligibility criterion is post-graduation with a minimum of 50%.After the eligibility criteria, the university conducts the IACS entrance examination for the candidates who have passed the UGC NET/GATE/JEST/UGC CSIR.
IACS BSc & MSc Admission 2026
For admission to the BSc + MSc program at IACS Kolkata, applicants who have completed their 10+2 level Board Examinations are eligible to appear in a UG Pre-Interview Screening Test (UPST). Having Mathematics at the 10+2 level is a mandatory eligibility criterion for appearing in the UPST.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview, out of which a maximum of eighty (80) candidates will be selected for the Program, as will be declared on the IACS website. The selection will be based on the performance in the UPST, followed by an interview, and subject to obtaining 60% marks (reservation criteria will apply as per rules) in the qualifying board (10+2) examination. IACS reserves the right to fix the aggregate cut-off marks in the UPST and also the relative weightage of the interview and the written test.

IACS MSc & PhD Admission 2026
IACS offers Specializations in the Integrated master's programs, including Chemical Science, Physical Science, Material Science, Mathematical and Computational Science, and Applied and Interdisciplinary Science.
Candidates who have completed or are due to complete their bachelor-level University Examinations are eligible to apply, but their final selection will be subject to securing 60% marks (reservation criteria will apply as per rules) in the qualifying examination. Candidates having an Engineering background and opting for the School of Mathematical & Computational Sciences should have adequate training in Mathematics and Computer Science.
Eligible applicants will be required to appear for a Master’s Pre-Interview Screening Test (MPST). MPST-2025 will be conducted in a fully computer-based test mode.

IACS PhD Admission 2026
For admission to the PhD program, candidates must meet the UGC PhD regulations and have passed a national exam such as the UGC-NET/JRF, UGC-CSIR NET/JRF, GATE, JEST, or an equivalent test in order to be admitted as a regular full-time PhD student at IACS. The University has the authority to establish its unique terms and conditions for the PhD program because it is an independent higher education institution.
Apart from this, Candidates also have a postgraduate degree with a minimum of 55%, and after this, candidates have to appear in the exams that are conducted by IACS itself. The total tuition fees for this course at IACS are INR 27,600.

IACS Admission Process 2026
Admission processes at IACS Kolkata are given below. For admission to this University, candidates have to follow the following steps.
- Visit the University website and open the admission section.
- Fill up the application form on the IACS Kolkata official website: iacs.res.in. The application form fees for the Phd program are INR 1200 and INR 600 for SC/ST and PD candidates only.
- After that, candidates have to pay an application fee for their respective course.
- Candidates are shortlisted based on their merit, academic backgrounds, and other details provided in the application form.
