The Mohali campus of the famed I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University (formally Punjab Technical University) is the only public engineering college in Mohali. I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University was ranked 96th in the NIRF 2019 rankings.
The Mohali campus currently only offers a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Sciences and a Bachelor of Computer Application degree. Admission to the B.Tech program is through the JEE Main examination conducted by the National Testing Agency.

The minimum eligibility for admission into the BTech program at the I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University is completion of 10+2 examination from a board recognized by a central or state government.
Additionally, students must also pass the said examination with Physics and Mathematics as the compulsory subjects paired with any one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, any technical vocational subject.
Candidates with a valid Diploma from any recognized institute or a two-year certificate from SLIET, Punjab will also be considered for admission.
