28 Aug, 2025 GATE 2026 Registration has started for ME/ MTech/ PhD Admission 2026-27. Aspirants can apply online @gate2026.iitg.ac.in upto Sep 28, 2025 (without late fee) and Oct 9, 2025 (with late fee). Further, GATE 2026 Exam will be conducted on Feb 7, 8, 14 & 15, 2026. Check latest updates here.  

IIIT Ranchi offers undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. programs which lead to a primary degree: B.Tech. The institute offers a B.Tech program in four specialisations. Admission to the B.Tech program is through the JEE Main exam, followed by JoSAA/CSAB counselling. For 2025, the JEE Main overall cutoff for the general category ranging from  31909 to 38192. The B.Tech program at IIIT Ranchi has a total fee of around INR 10.13 lakhs.

M.Tech
  • Candidates are required to have completed their graduation in the relevant discipline of Engineering or Technology from a recognised university or college.
  • Candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA in aggregate.
  • Selection to the M.Tech program is done on the basis of ranks secured by a candidate in the GATE exam.
  • Also, a candidate has to appear in the CCMT counselling session for final admission.

IIIT Ranchi Ph.D. Admission 2025

IIIT Ranchi offers a 3 to 7-year Ph.d. degree in five specialisations, i.e. Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering. Admission to the Ph.D. degree program is done via the GATE or UGC NET/CSIR exam.

Choose Future, not Present

Admission:

I had several other options like NIT Hamirpur, NIT Durgapur, BITS Pilani etc... Now in all the tier 2 nits i would have got either metallurgy or civil at the best but in BITS Pilani i could've got ENI but the fees there was 33 lkh for all the 4 years so it was not affordable for me. This was the best option keeping in mind my rank, roi and fees. You can get here by applying for jossa or csab after you have given jee mainsa and you will get a seat if you get good rank.

IIIT ranchi: My experience

Admission:

I had applied to LNMIIT and my seat was confirmed in it, but I opted for this college because the placements was a lot better in this college. I got a rejection from BIT mesra, CSE as I didn't get the appropriate rank in JEE mains. The admission process was very straight forward. I had to give JEE mains exam and I got a certain rank (about 36k). The cutoff for my college was 50k (for Electronics, IOT branch) to 28k (for CSE core). The experience for preperation for this exam was very memorable.

Admission:

i dont apply for other colleges ] yes i got rejection from many colleges because my jee rank was not that good the admission process is you had to clear JEE MAINS exams and get the percentile of 98 for cse in general category and for 97 for ece department along with more than 75 percent marks in tour class 12 th examination

A brief Overview of IIIT Ranchi

Admission:

The other colleges i was getting that i rejected was- IIIT bhagalpur & kalyani - poor location,lack of it industry and good colleges in the region IIIT manipur - same reason even worse location , recent conflicts in the area , too far away from my home Thapar - fees was too high and i was getting ECE which dont have enough ROI .and increasing batch size Other state govt colleges - less placement, not enough exposure. I chose this college because IIIT tag Ranchi city( capital) Placement was good in 2023 There is only one way for admission. Students have to give jee mains and secure good rank and participate in the jossa and csab councelling.

How much is the B.Tech course fee of IIIT Ranchi?

The total fee of Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] course of IIIT Ranchi is INR 8.04 Lakhs. The institute follows semester fee pattern that means one need to pay INR 90,000 per semester for technology course.
