DSU Admission FAQs
Ques. Is DSAT mandatory or can I apply to DSU with only JEE Main or KCET?
Ans. DSAT is not mandatory. For B.Tech, JEE Main, KCET, and COMEDK UGET scores are accepted directly. For MBA, CAT, Karnataka PGCET, MAT, GMAT, and KMAT are accepted. DSAT is an additional route for students who have not appeared in any of the standard exams. If you already have a qualifying national or state exam score for your programme, you do not need DSAT.
Ques. Does DSU have KCET quota for programmes other than B.Tech?
Ans. Yes. KCET is also accepted for B.Sc, B.Pharm, BPT, B.Sc Nursing, and Pharm.D at DSU. Karnataka domicile students with a valid KCET rank can apply through KEA counselling at kea.kar.nic.in for these programmes. KCET quota typically carries lower fees than the management quota. Non-Karnataka students must use CUET-UG, COMEDK, or DSAT depending on the programme.
Ques. Can students from outside Karnataka get B.Tech admission at DSU?
Ans. Yes. Non-Karnataka students can apply to DSU B.Tech through JEE Main 2026 score, COMEDK UGET 2026 score, or DSAT. Applications go through dsu.edu.in. These seats fall under the management quota and carry the full programme fee, which ranges from INR 16,48,000 to INR 18,88,000 for 4 years by branch. KEA KCET counselling is for Karnataka domicile students only.
Ques. What are the MBA specializations available at DSU Bangalore?
Ans. DSU Bangalore offers 9 MBA specializations: Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Financial Management, Human Resource Management, IT and Systems Management, Marketing Management, Supply Chain Management, and MBA General. All specializations carry the same fee of INR 11,92,000 for 2 years. Admission is through CAT 2025, Karnataka PGCET 2026, MAT, GMAT, KMAT, or DSAT, and a bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% aggregate is required.
Ques. Can a Commerce student with Mathematics apply for DSU BCA?
Ans. Yes. DSU BCA eligibility covers students from any 10+2 stream provided Mathematics or Computer Science was part of the curriculum. Commerce students with Mathematics, PCM students, and PCB students who had Computer Science are all eligible. The minimum aggregate required is 50% (45% for reserved categories). Admission is through DSAT 2026 or merit on 10+2 marks.
Ques. What documents are needed during DSU admission?
Ans. Standard documents required at DSU admission are: 10+2 or graduation mark sheets, entrance exam score card, transfer certificate, migration certificate, character certificate, caste or category certificate if applicable, and recent passport-size photographs. Karnataka domicile students applying through KCET also need the KEA seat allotment letter. All originals must be produced during document verification.
Ques. What is the fee range for DSU B.Sc programmes?
Ans. DSU B.Sc fees range from INR 4,26,000 to INR 5,16,000 for the 3-year programme. Emergency and Trauma Care and Medical Lab Technology are the most affordable at INR 4,26,000. Data Science, Cyber Security, and Cardiac Care are at INR 4,86,000. Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Genetics, Microbiology, and OT Technology are at INR 5,16,000. Verify current fees at dsu.edu.in before applying.
Ques. What is the last date to apply for DSU admissions in 2026-27?
Ans. There is no single cutoff date across all programmes. DSAT runs throughout the year and most programmes confirm admissions by July to August 2026. For KCET-route programmes, the deadline is driven by KEA counselling rounds. For PGCET-route programmes like MBA, MCA, and M.Tech, the cutoff is tied to PGCET results and KEA counselling in July 2026. Apply as early as possible at dsu.edu.in to avoid seat scarcity.
