MNLU Mumbai Admission FAQs
Ques. Is there a separate process for lateral entry admissions at MNLU Mumbai?
Ans. Yes, lateral entry admissions are available for programme-specific cases, such as postgraduate or doctoral programmes. Applicants must meet strict eligibility requirements, including relevant prior qualifications, and admission is subject to seat availability and university approval.
Ques. Can international students participate in standard CLAT counselling for MNLU Mumbai?
Ans. International students and NRIs follow a separate admission process at MNLU Mumbai:
- MNLU Mumbai has supernumerary seats for NRI, NRI‑Sponsored, and Foreign National candidates, filled through this independent process.
- NRIs generally need a valid CLAT score and must submit documents like NRI status certificate and sponsor details
- Foreign Nationals apply directly to the university, providing equivalence certificates, passport, and Statement of Purpose (SOP).
- These admissions have separate eligibility criteria and fee structures, and are processed independently, so they do not affect the merit-based seats for Indian students.
Ques. Are there special seats for Maharashtra domicile or local candidates?
Ans. While most seats are allocated through merit and category reservations, MNLU Mumbai may provide preference to state-domicile candidates in certain instances to ensure regional representation. Such candidates must submit valid domicile proof during verification, and these seats are additional to general and reserved category allocations.
