CUSB PhD (Hindi) FAQs
Ques. Why was PhD in Hindi not offered at CUSB in AY 2025-26, and will it be available in 2026-27?
Ans. PhD seat availability at CUSB depends on the number of faculty members available to supervise research scholars in a given year. In AY 2026-27, the PhD notification covered 23 departments, and Hindi was not among them, likely due to limited supervisor availability. Whether PhD in Hindi will be offered in AY 2027-28 will be confirmed only when the official notification is released, expected around September 2027. Candidates interested in PhD Hindi at CUSB should regularly monitor cusb.ac.in and the SAMARTH portal for updates.

Ans. The Department of Hindi at CUSB offers research opportunities across a broad range of areas including classical and modern Hindi literature, Hindi poetry (Chhayavad, Pragativad, Prayogvad), Hindi prose and drama, Hindi criticism and aesthetics, Hindi linguistics and language studies, translation studies (Hindi-English and other languages), Hindi journalism, and Hindi language pedagogy.
