Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants seeking admission to 4 year Full-time B.Tech Program should meet the following criteria as specified by the institute.

Academic Requirement

The Candidate should be 17 years of age as on 31st December in the year of application.
The candidate must be a domicile of West Bengal.
The candidate must pass Higher Secondary ( 10+2) Examination of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination in science stream from any recognized Board/ Council from any institution within West Bengal.
The candidate must pass the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examinations with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the above four subjects in regular class mode.
The candidate must obtain at least 50 % marks (40 % in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBCA, OBC-B, PwD) in above four subjects taken together.

Entrance Test:

Candidates must qualify in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination for Engineering/ Technology (WBJEE) conducted by WBJEEB.

Reservation:

The reservations seats of SC-22%, ST-6%, OBC-A-10%, OBC-B-7%, VCI Nominee-15% for B.V.Sc. Course and ICAR Nominee-15% for B.F.Sc. & B.Tech. (D.T.) course, Person with Disability (PwD)-5%*

The prosperous and happenning university - West Bengal University of animal and fisheries Sciences

After every completion of two semesters i.e. after completion of 1 yr. go to field visit that that is rural dairy work experience program in which we get to learn about the Ground Zero milk procurement to how the milk is transported to the industry.
We've all laboratory facilities for the milk testing and our course related practical facilities are great. Special arrangements for making dairy products in our own for understanding of large scale production is facilitated by our own student dairy.

Dislikes

The laboratory facilities can be enhanced more
It was expected that we would have for study Tours in each year as our seniors had but we only go to one study tour at the last year that i.e. in the 4rth year of the college.

Fees and Financial Aid:

FEE Our every semester course fee is ? 3710 /- . That is in BTech course we have 8 semesters so it is 3710 x 8 which is equal to Rupees 29,680 /- . There is no other fees required. SCHOLARSHIP We definitely get scholarship We have 1. Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means scholarship ?60,000 /- 2. Our university scholarship 3. Oasis scholarship ( For schedule caste Scheduled tribe and other backward class students ) ? 20,000/-

Passing is hard for this course as there are 8 subjects each sem

Per sem you have to pay 5700 fir hostellers and 4700 fir day schollers You can apply for scholarship (SVMCM) and a university scholarship It's having a secured job after getting the degree Any students can apply

Likes

Teaching system and fees structure is very friendly and what the teacher teaches is enough to get a good gpa

Fees and Financial Aid:

Every sem you have to pay 5700( for hostellers) and 4700 ( for day schollers ) , their is no tusion fee what the teacher of faculty teaches is enough. A scholarship ( SVMCM) is given to all students. A job is secured from campusing and also you can apply for many other jobs as well as government jobs after getting degree.

Life of a BTech DT student studying in WBUAFS

Likes

The Student Dairy where the students get hand on experience for manufacturing of products in a proper manner.

Dislikes

The Dairy Engineering Department laboratories needs to be maintained.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fees per semester of this course is ?3850 (if the student is day-scholar) and ?5710 (for hosteller). This university is under the State government of West Bengal. The scholarships that can be applied here are SVMCM, Oasis, etc and the University also provudes University merit scholarship for the top 10 rank holders of each batch (terms and conditions applied). The university also provides stipends when the students are sent to do internships in various plants and industries.

The fees are very very low as it is a government college. Per semester the fee is Rs 5710/- and at the time of admission Rs, 10000/- is taken. If you study well, you can apply for SVMCM scholarship, Nabanna scholarship, NSP scholarship and ICAR scholarship (for ICAR students).
