- Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
- Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
- The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.
Dislikes
- We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
- I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
- There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

- The CSE ECE EE placements are really impressing although not so much as iits but satisfactory among nits

- There's a strict 75% attendance criteria for all
- Lab equipments are not updated , should upgrade those
- College feels like a school because of all the restrictions
Placement Experience:
Placements are very good for cse ,ece, and ee.
For the rest, it's not satisfying.
The average package was 13.6 lpa this year for the whole.
Cse avarage was 22 lpa and ece 19 lpa.
Many people opt for higher studies, PhD, MTech, or MBA.

- Some faculties are very friendly and some are strict that is good
- Research building that looks insane in the evening with lights . I love that

- Low maintenance of washrooms of SAC(Students Activity Centre) and NAB( New academic building) as well as MAB (main academic building)
Placement Experience:
From the 6th semester, students are eligible for placements.
Companies like Microsoft, John Deer, Bajaj, reliance, Byju, Adobe, LNT, PWC, etc. visit our college for campus placements.
The highest package is 57 lakhs from Microsoft. average package is 12 lakhs.
About 80 % of students get their campus placement easily.
I want to get a good placement and will go for GATE to get a PSU job or an on-campus PSU.

- Campus Life is good all types of opportunities for enjoyment is available
- Placement is very good for my branch,this year the highest CTC is 72lpa.
- Faculty are good many of them are PhD holders

- As I am a South Indian i didn't liked the food here
- The curriculum can be far more advanced by making some changes
Course Curriculum Overview:
I chose this course because I want to become a software engineer, our institute's faculty-student ratio is 1:21. all the faculty members are PhD holders in their respective domains. Their teaching methods are good, for a semester we will have two term exams mid and end-term. Mid-term exam papers will be easier to score compared to the end term so it is easy to pass if you score well in mid-term

I have chosen these course because I have a keen interest in biotechnology that's why I have choosen these all faculty are very supportive here all the faculty are highly qualified Exams are easy to pass just have to go through the pdf given by the teacher

Placement Experience:
From 3rd year some companies come for internships, and they can give you pre-placement offers. Or else, you have to wait till 4th year (approx 97% of people do this) for placement. Each year the placement statistics vary, but nearly 75-80% get placed.

Course Curriculum Overview:
The course curriculum is pretty well planned, for any branch. The faculties are highly qualified people(done their Masters/PhD from foreign Universities /IITs /IISc /NITs, who are very helpful, and easily approachable. Ready to help in your subjects and doubt whenever in need.

- Old curriculum, needs to be updated soon
- Poor laboratory conditions. Not maintained very well
- Mess food is bad but its like this for nearly every college
Course Curriculum Overview:
In this college, the faculty is mainly from Bengal itself. Faculty have enough experience and knowledge as many of them have done their Ph.D. course from IITs, NITs, Jabalpur University, and many more good universities. Style of teaching is mainly on blackboard and some teachers use the PPT for teaching. The mode of communication is mainly English. Most of the faculty is good but some faculty is not that good in teaching.

Placement Experience:
there is a dedicated campus placement team consisting of representatives from each dept & faculty as well. More than 600 companies usually visit for on-campus recruitment drives. Starting from 7th sem, August onwards campus placement gets started. Avg placement is more than 85% with a maximum package of 50-80 lacs & and the package is 6-8 lacs.

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur
- Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
- Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
- Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
- Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
- Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
- Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
- Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
Overall, NIT Durgapur is a great place if you are unable to make it to IITs.
