- Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
- Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
- The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.
Dislikes
- We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
- I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
- There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

- All Faculty members of this college are highly qualified and supportive which is very good thing I found.
- College provides a very a facilities apart from curricular including sports and further exposure.
Dislikes
- Lab and workshops biuldings are older and the euipments also can be considered for improvement.
- Gender ratio is decent in our batch but I think it should further improve.
- College administration must focus more on club activities and fests.
Placement Experience:
NIT Durgapur provides campus placement opportunities to every eligible student through the CDC(Career Development Centre) of NIT Durgapur. Internship opportunities are provided from the 5th semester and placement season starts from the 7th semester. The overall placement percentage is above 85 percent and avg ctc is above 11lpa.

- The campus life and atmosphere is quite positive
- The classrooms are very well maintained and equipped
- The hostels for first years are good and with good security
Dislikes
- We dont have any mio amore inside the campus. We have a cafe but it has very limited ready made foods
- The ragging culture is still there in few places but only if you willing to be a part of it then .
- The college sports enthusiasm is much less
Placement Experience:
The overall placement has been very good.
The average package here is 13.5 LPA.
The average package for different branches is
CSE: 22.5 LPA.

- Totally I like the complete campus they are many which flows
- Mostly I like nestcafe over there because we can spend most time over there
Dislikes
- Many ragging and old prof and food mostly
- Food was not good completely very sweet and no quantity
Course Curriculum Overview:
Nowadays it's the era of computers and AI-based, machine learning. so I thought to be in touch with modern trends and be up to date and get command of computer languages so I opted cse and coding is a very logical and interesting thing.

- Caricullum for certain core branches is not interesting
- Too much restrictions for 1st years in hostel and college
- Grading system and attendance pressure is not good

Placement Experience:
Students go for internships after 2nd and 3rd years. Many of them get PPO's. During 4th year 3 placement sessions occur on campus and core and non-core companies come.
Big companies like Microsoft and J.P.Morgan come and give packages as high as 70lpa.

- The campus is very beautiful , clean and filled with greenery.
- The classrooms in the NAB(New Academic Building) are great and modern.
- The classroom culture in the institute .
Dislikes
- Sometimes the medical unit does not provide all the necessary medications
- sometimes the grounds and free spaces are not maintained properly and the become breeding ground for various insects and snakes
- The classrooms of MAB (Main Academic Building)
Placement Experience:
In our college, the process of internship starts from 3rd year itself and the placement process starts from 4th year. Among the number of students that apply for the placement process, about 80% of them get a job offer from the companies present.

- The Library and new academic block and the nearby eating and seating area
- Infrastructure is proper with ac and wifi and greenary
- All the people and faculty is very understanding and helpful
Dislikes
- Food and mess should have been better and tasty
- Cleaning should be proper like cutting grasses .
- Nearby accommodation like bus should be easily available
Placement Experience:
The placement is high. some criteria are there to sit for job placement. All the information is shared by the college dean by mail and all documents and some sgpa should be above 7. DSA questions are asked and exam interviews are taken.

- The classrooms of New Academic Building(NAB) are very good
- Considerable number of companies come for placements of core branches

- The mess food is not that good , it could have been better
- In the Medical Unit of the college most of the times many medicines are not available
- The class room conditions of the Main Academic Building(MAB) are not that good

After 6th semester students are eligible for campus placements, provided they do not have an active backlog. There were more than 700 offers and more than 600 students were placed in the academic year 2022-23. The highest package was 70 LPA and the average CTC was 13.64 LPA.

- Campus is small compared to other nits
- Mess food is not quite good ,it can be improved.
Placement Experience:
From 4th year students become eligible for campus placements. Microsoft, amazon, etc. companies visited. The highest package is 46 lakhs per annum and the average package is nearly 12 lakhs per annum. Almost 80 percentage of students get placed.

- comes in top 10 NITs and having a great alumni network.

- 75% attendance criteria . other wise grade will be deducted.
- academics is strict . have to maintain to academic activity with and attendance.
- hostel foods are not good enough and hostel facilities is also poor

After the 4th sem company visits for an internship and after the 6th for placement. total no of companies visited last year approx 200+. height package 70 lakhs avg 13.5 lakhs. placement percentage is 80 percent. my plan is to get a job in mncs.

I have a personal interest in computer science and engineering mainly interested in doing codingmFaculty will help us in academics.
Each and every faculty maximum completed their PHD.
Exams were not as much tougher as we thought if we followed the class then we absolutely scored well.

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur
- Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
- Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
- Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
- Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
- Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
- Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
- Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
Overall, NIT Durgapur is a great place if you are unable to make it to IITs.
