JIIT Ph.D. (CSE) Fees

The Ph.D. (CSE) programme at JIIT Noida is structured on a semester-wise fee payment basis. The tuition fee is Rs. 34,500 per semester for AY 2026-27. For a minimum 3-year (6-semester) programme, the total tuition fee amounts to Rs. 2,07,000, and for a 4-year (8-semester) programme, it amounts to Rs. 2,76,000. A one-time refundable caution money of Rs. 20,000 and an application fee of Rs. 1,000 are also applicable. Hostel accommodation is optional at Rs. 1,10,000 per semester (inclusive of boarding and lodging).

JIIT Ph.D. (CSE) Admission 2026

JIIT Noida conducts Ph.D. admissions twice a year for odd and even semesters. The even semester 2026 admission cycle has already been completed (applications closed December 31, 2025; exam and interview on January 8, 2026). The next odd semester 2026-27 admission cycle is expected to open around July-August 2026, based on the previous year's pattern. Candidates with UGC-NET or CSIR-JRF qualifications can appear directly for the interview without the written test. All other candidates must appear in the JIIT Ph.D. Entrance Test followed by an interview.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must hold a Master's degree (1-year/2-semester after a 4-year bachelor's, or 2-year/4-semester after a 3-year bachelor's) in a relevant discipline (M.Tech CSE/IT, M.Sc. CS, MCA, or equivalent) with 55% aggregate marks or CGPA of 5.5 on a 10-point scale.
Alternatively, candidates with a 4-year/8-semester bachelor's degree with 75% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA are also eligible.
M.Phil. holders with 55% aggregate marks or CGPA of 5.5 are also eligible.
A relaxation of 5% marks is provided for SC/ST (non-creamy layer) and Differently Abled candidates.

Admission Process

Apply online at www.getadmissions.com/jaypee or download the application form from www.jiit.ac.in and submit with a Demand Draft of Rs. 1,000.
Eligible candidates appear in the JIIT Ph.D. Entrance Test (150 minutes, 100 marks: Part 1 - 50 MCQs on Research Methodology; Part 2 - Descriptive questions from CSE subject areas including Algorithms, Computer Networks, Information Security, Data Warehousing and Mining, Digital Image Processing, Soft Computing, Computer Graphics, Internet and Web Technologies).
UGC-NET (result category 2 and 3) and CSIR-JRF qualified candidates are eligible for direct interview.
Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview/viva.
Final selection is based on combined performance in the written test and interview.
Candidates appearing in the final year of their qualifying degree can also apply; they must submit their marksheet on or before the date of registration.

JIIT Ph.D. (CSE) Scholarships 2026

JIIT Noida offers a Research Fellowship to full-time Ph.D. scholars, which is a significant financial support mechanism. The fellowship of Rs. 45,000 per month for 3 years is provided subject to availability. Over 3 years, this amounts to a total fellowship support of Rs. 16,20,000, which far exceeds the total programme fee, effectively making the programme self-sustaining for fellowship recipients.
