The last date to register @gate2026.iitg.ac.in has been extended to Oct 6, 2025 (without late fee) and Oct 9, 2025 (with late fee). Tripura University offers UG and PG degree programs in various streams such as science, arts, management, law, library science, etc. It also offers Ph.D. programs and certificate courses. Admission to all UG and PG programs at Tripura University is based on CUET UG and CUET PG examinations, respectively. The final selection is done through a counselling process conducted by the university based on CUET scores. Tripura University is a Central University that was established in October 1987. It is located at Agartala with 78 acres of campus. It is approved by UGC and has got accreditation from NAAC. It has achieved 88th rank in NIRF rankings and 4th rank in Eastern India in 2016. The University has 46 departments offering 58 programs to students from India and Bangladesh.

Tripura University West Tripura UG Admission 2024
Tripura University offers various UG courses for the duration of 3 years. The integrated courses at Tripura University are for the duration of 5 years. The basic eligibility criteria required at TU is a Class 12 Board exam qualified with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized Board. Candidates with the following eligibility criteria can apply for their desired stream at Tripura University.
Tripura University UG Eligibility Criteria
Course-wise eligibility criteria along with the domain-specific subject that candidates need to choose in the CUET are tabulated below:

Tripura University UG Selection Criteria
Candidates will be provided admission based on the marks they will secure in Common University Entrance Exam (CUET)
- Admissions will also be based on the separate criteria of the Tripura University
- Admission to some of the Integrated courses in disciplines like Hindi, Bengali, Rural studies, History, etc. will be based on the merit secured in the General Test
- UG courses like B.Voc (Film & Video Production) and BBA will also be based on General tests for admissions
- The reserved category candidates will be provided admissions as per the norms of the Government of India.
Tripura University UG Application Process
Candidates willing to seek admission to Tripura University will have to appear for the CUET (UG). Candidates will have to register for the CUET by going to the official website of NTA. Candidates can only register for CUET in online mode. The step-by-step process to fill up the application form for CUET is provided below:
- Visit the official website of NTA- https://nta.ac.in/
- Valid E-Mail ID and Mobile number are to be provided to receive SMS by NTA
- The personal details and academic details of the Candidate are needed to be entered
- Scanned copies of the Passport sized photograph & signature of the candidate are to be uploaded
- The application fees are to be paid through online mode (credit/debit/net banking/UPI)
- A printout of the application form and fees receipt must be taken out for future use

- Candidates having a valid score in MAT/ XAT / CAT/ CMAT will get direct admission in MBA at Tripura University.
- Universities may also release a merit list based on marks obtained in graduation.
Tripura University also offers courses such as LLM, M.Pharm, B.Lib.I.Sc and M.Lib.I.Sc, M.Ed and B.Ed. They also have integrated ug and pg programs of 5 years.
How to Apply for Tripura University?
- Candidates should apply online for courses at Tripura university official website.
- Candidates can download the prospectus from the website.
- In order to apply online, candidates must register themselves first by giving email ID and phone number along with basic details of the applicant.
- After successful registration, applicants will receive a username and password in the registered email ID or mobile number.
- After getting the login details, applicants should fill up the application form and provide the required details. Applicants are also required to upload their Passport photograph and other documents.
- The application fee is 800 INR for UR / OBC candidates and 600 INR for SC/ ST / PWD candidates should be paid.
- After successful submission, candidates will get to download an "Acknowledgement".
- Candidates can apply for more than one course but they have to fill the form separately for each. A candidate can apply for a maximum of 3 courses.
- Since, TUET is Cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic, admissions will be done on the basis of Marks obtained in qualifying examination.
- After filling up the form University will release a Merit list for selected candidates and they will be called for counselling.
- After the counselling is done, candidates will be called for document verification and final admission. The Dates for which will be announced at the official website.

I chooses this college as it is nearby my home state . The weather as well as the food habits are quite similar as that of people of Assam .Majority of the people are Bengalis but u will find many tribal people too.The admission process is also smooth .u just have to register in the Tripura counselling even if u are from some other state. But the cutoff here is a bit high.

For admission in Ram Thakur college or any college in Tripura students should not or have to apply for CUET ,for admission for admission students do not have to pay a single penny they can directly form fill up for admission in the website of the college or university full stop at the time of registration they have to pay a some amount of rupees 630 or 700 according to your courses which includes all the expenses related to the education fees library fees program fees not including examination fees. Gents after passing higher secondary level they can directly apply for the courses they want to select for post graduation.

I did tried for other colleges. But i didn't get the chance as my marks were not up to the mark and also, there are huge numbers of students ahead of me. I got into my college through the counseling session. The exam accepted in my course is NEET. The cutoffs and eligibility do change yearly. So it should be checked always.

This college was my first priority list, but by chanse I will reject by the college, That's why I have applied another one college on the same course. But it was my second priority because of scarcity of good teachers and faculties in the college, And in the process of admission I have to payed 622 rupees for admission
