The faculty to student ratio is good.. For ex. In physiology alone we have around 6-7 professors along with other residents. Talking about the faculties all of them teach good... But the problem is most of us don't concentrate much during classes.. ???? Now if we talk about exams.. So we have internal and external exams.. Internal exams are conducted by college as semester -1 and 2 and then at the end of year, we have final exams. Most of the students manage to pass the exams(with 1 or 2 exceptions )

An ideal medical school faculty-to-student ratio is generally considered to be around 1:10 to 1:15. This range is favored because it ensures personalized attention and support while maintaining a viable class size for effective teaching and learning. Smaller class sizes facilitate interactive and participatory learning environments. Techniques such as problem-based learning (PBL), small group discussions, and hands-on clinical practice become more manageable and effective. Most faculty members are licensed physicians with an MD (Doctor of Medicine) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) degree. Residency and Fellowship Training: Faculty typically have completed residency programs and may also have completed fellowship training in specialized fields.

Overall the faculty over here is pretty good. Majority of them are from AIIMS Delhi and Chandigarh. They play role in every event happening in the college. Majority of lectures are via presentation so they become kind of monologue out there. Some departments are quite hard and students fear them while some are quite chill. Some faculty members are also involved in sports activities with the students so it helps in creating a good bonding.

AIIMS Jodhpur: 2 Answered Questions

Is it true that the second generation AIIMS (Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur, Rishikesh) are suffering from lack of faculty and hightech medical instruments for MBBS UG course?

Puneet AaryaMBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences

MBBS from any AIIMS is equally good and anyone who claims otherwise has false information or hasn’t been exposed to the facilities of these peripheral AIIMS.

As for the high-tech medical instruments, UG MBBS does not require such equipment and the course is conducted mostly through clinical exposure and not research work. For this, we need enough cadavers, well-furnished labs, OTS, and well-maintained lecture theaters.

Every AIIMS provides these top-notch facilities and has excellent infrastructure that promotes a healthy academic environment. The quality of the infrastructure is further proved by the pic below

AIIMS

What you see here is a modular OT and a high-tech faculty that is present only in institutes of national importance because of funding from the government.

AIIMS faculty recruitment is unique and thus it’s not easy to take in just anyone as a teacher here. Moreover, the faculty shortage does not affect the quality of education.

The results of all these AIIMS and the successful doctors they have produce are a testament to their worth and credibility that is almost the same as AIIMS Delhi.
