AI-Generated Summary based on 28 Reviews

Admission to the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) requires applicants to clear the NEET UG entrance exam, which is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Eligibility criteria include passing Class 12 with Biology and an aggregate of 60% marks. The NEET UG is held once a year, and the application process details, including fees and dates, are available on the NTA website.

The admission process incorporates a significant reservation policy for SC, ST, and OBC candidates, with substantial differences in cut-off requirements. General category candidates typically need to score 700+ marks out of 720 in NEET UG to secure admission. There is no mention of a direct or management quota for admission. The post-exam process involves medical counseling, often described as cumbersome, followed by document verification, which requires improvements in efficiency. Reservations mandated by the Indian government provide additional advantages to eligible candidates.

It is important for candidates to navigate these processes effectively and be mindful of the timelines and requirements for successful admission.

AIIMS Jodhpur: 1 Answered Question

Which is better, AIIMS Jodhpur or KGMU Lucknow?

Sagar Dikshitlives in Lucknow

KGMU has always been a very attractive option for medical aspirants.

It has a good infrastructure and reputation. It is considered as the best medical college in UP. I don’t have much idea about AIIMS Jodhpur, but it is considered the best after Delhi. Personally though, I consider AIIMS Rishikesh a better choice due to its pleasant location.

Recently, the UP government has passed a compulsory bond for UGs and PGs. It is a compulsory 2 years rural posting bond. This is a huge drawback in choosing KGMU Lucknow. The rural posting will be a difficult time, and you won’t learn much from it. There are safety concerns as well.

For your MBBS, you should choose between the two based on personal preference. But I would recommend you go for AIIMS Jodhpur.
