Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth (TMV) in Pune offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across diverse fields. The university provides over 22 courses in eight major specializations, including BCA, MCA, B.Sc., M.Sc., and MBA/PGDM, among others. In recent years, TMV has expanded its course offerings to include programs such as BHMCT, B.Sc. Nursing, BPT, and LL.B. Additionally, TMV offers PhD programs in Political Science, Sociology, Economics, Management, Law, Mass Media, Ayurveda, Sanskrit, and Computer Science. Most PhD programs have a duration of three years, while specialized fields like Ayurveda and Indology may extend up to five years. Admissions to PhD programs require a relevant Master’s degree with at least 55% marks, and candidates must qualify for TMV’s PhD entrance exam unless exempted through UGC-NET/SET/JRF.

BCA program is one of TMV's flagship offerings. Admission to this program is based on the Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth Entrance Test (TMV) or the state-level MHSET/CUET. Candidates must have completed their 12th grade with a minimum of 55% marks or hold a Diploma in Computer, Information, or Engineering Technology.

The university also provides various UG & PG courses under the Directorate of Distance Education. In recognition of its contribution in the field of Education, TMV was awarded the status of “Deemed to be University” by the Government in 1987. Several eminent personalities, from Mahatma Gandhi to Shri Pranab Mukherjee, have appreciated the uniqueness, culture, and research work of the university.

I opted for Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth because of its solid reputation good curriculum and strong industry connections among other colleges TMV had a better balance of academics and practical exposure to programming languages and data analytics. I had applied to Symbiosis and Ferguson also but chose TMV due to the reasonable fees and because the faculties here are helpful and approachable. TMV Admission Process: Eligibility: Completion of 12th with 50% marks(or equivalent) for BCA. Exam Accepted: TMV conducts its entrance exam or accepts scores from MHSET and CUET. Cutoffs: Different every year depending on the exam and the applicant pool, but TMV is generally more lenient than top-tier colleges. Experience: The process was pretty straightforward. I filled out the application took the entrance exam, and waited for the results. The faculty were very helpful during the whole process.

I had applied to Garware College, but got rejected over low marks (got 74% in boards, 69%ile in MHTCET). I chose TMV, because i had no other options were left. TMV offers admission to the MCA program based on the merit of MAH MCA CET. If you do not meet the required cut-off you will not be able to get admission in the said program.
