IIITM Gwalior Placements 2024: Average Package: INR 20.56 LPA & Highest Package: INR 65 LPA

Placements at IIITM Gwalior have been known to be better than many NITs and the college is definitely a good choice if you are interested in the field of computers. As far as placements are concerned, many of the students from the college have been placed in some of the most major sectors in the industry.

For the year 2020-2021, a total of 102 students were placed and 50 different companies participated in the placement drive. Some of the major recruiters at the institute are TCS, Infosys, HCL, etc. Here is the course-wise placement.

You can also expect internship opportunities at recruiters like Topper, Swiggy, Redbus, Sortoc, Microsoft, and many others. This is a brief placement highlight for IIIT Gwalior for the last academic year. You can check the official website to have detailed information regarding the same.

The placement scenario in the institute with respect to different streams in the year 2019-20 was quite attractive. The situation was not good 5 years ago. The companies were not that interested towards the institute. 

The prominent details regarding placement in this year are as follows:

Close to 70 students bagged up a package of more than INR 10LPA. They have established a good position in the top multinationals.

The primary recruiters are Acxiom, HCL, Samsung, PWC, American Express, Amazon, Cashify, Dell, IBM, Microsoft, Newgen. Microsoft, Optum, Amazon, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Urban Clap were the major companies that can be looked up to for better records.

Apart from placements internships also gave a good impact in which 102 people got their opportunity. The internships have given an immense exposure to individuals in order to set up a good base in the industrial sectors.

IITM has set up a decent placement record in the past 2-3 years. It has made good networking with different industries in the sector. Therefore choosing any course with the institute would land you up in a better career ahead having more possibilities.

ABV-IIITM, Gwalior observes an overall placement rate of 85-90% across total students through the placement drive. It conducts placements every single year across Engineering, Business Development/Sales, Education and Information Technology, with the maximum number of placements taking place in the field of Engineering. Information Technology and Education sectors see a placement rate of 11% as opposed to Engineering, which is at 30%.

• The most popular companies to have hired students from the college in the year 2020 are Dell, Goldman Sachs, Byju’s, HCL, HDFC, Goibibo, IBM, Infosys, Paytm, Myntra, Pwc, Cartesian, Nagarro, and more.
• Over the years, top companies that have been associated with employing students from IIITM, Gwalior are Adobe, Amazon, Axis Bank, CISCO, Book my Show, Deloitte, Japan Wipro, Yahoo, and Oracle.
• The college also provides summer internship opportunities to students across leading companies like Flipkart, BNY Mellon, Diaspark, and more. In 2019, a total of 139 students were selected for summer internships provided by the college. Out of this, 18 students were from the MBA program and 121 students from the MTech stream.

It offers an average salary package of 10.5 LPA, with 40 LPA being the highest salary package received. Apart from this, a total student count of 18% was observed to have received Pre-placement offers (PPO) from the college. The highest placement package for MBA programs was marked at 15 LPA.

Once students appear for the placement drive, the college will upload a selection list on their website informing students about the status of their interview. Students can also check the list of prospective major employers of the year on the website.

There is no doubt that you will receive better placement opportunities in IIIT Gwalior than in IIIT Lucknow. The main reason behind this is that irrespective of the count of students in the IIIT Lucknow, around 40 students from 2020 batch got placed with an average of 18 Lacs per annum package. At IIIT Gwalior, the average salary recorded for 2020 batch was 14.5 Lacs per annum.

The fundamental logic behind total strength in IIIT Gwalior 120 IPG students + 30–40 Mtech (2 yr) students + around 30–40 MBA (2 yr) students. The MTech in VLSI program at ABV-IIITM, Gwalior is a two-year program with specializations in Advanced Networks, Digital Communication, and Information Security. The annual median salary across students is noted to be 5.8 LPA in 2019.

• The faculty at ABV-IIITM, Gwalior for the MTech VLSI program are professionals in the field who come from a background of academic expertise and are well-versed with VLSI methods and processes.

The stipend paid varies according to the company but as per the MHRD norms it amounts to Rs 8000. Some students have also received a stipend of Rs 12,400 as per AICTE norms. So it would be ideal to conclude that the stipend ranges from anywhere between Rs 8000 to Rs 12,400.

Students are required to perform intensive research about the type of companies that they are looking to work with, considering IIITM, Gwalior offers limited placements to students from the VLSI sector. The total fees for the course amount to 4.23 lacs whereas students are required to clear the GATE exams in order to be eligible for admissions.

ABV IIITM Gwalior is ranked 81 by NIRF. It is recognized by UGC and AICTE. They have a student strength of 854 students. 

MTech in VLSI is a 2 year full time postgraduate course which involves engineering aspects of designing and developing IC based systems. The course is divided into 4 semesters. 

Placement Details

• 102 students were placed with the highest salary package.
• The highest salary package overall offered was 42 LPA.
• The average salary package overall offered was 14.58 LPA.
• Students graduating with MTech in VLSI Design can work in VLSI Testing, Chip Designing, Lecturer, VLSI Design Engineer, etc. 
• The top recruiting companies include Microsoft, EY, Morgan Stanley, Google, Goldman Sachs, Reliance, Tata, etc.

Faculty

• There is the head of the department, with professors, associate professor, and assistant professors. 
• A total of more than 36 full-time faculty members and 6 are adjunct faculty members. 
• Most of the faculties are Ph.D. holders and experts in the field.

Students will require 75% in their 10+2 qualifying exam and 60% in their BTech or BE exam to be eligible for admission at ABV IIITM Gwalior for the MTech program in VLSI Design. Final selection will be based on GATE scores.

As per the MHRD norms, the students are offered stipends within the range of INR 7000-13000. Approximately, this year a total of 18% students received Pre-placement offers from various companies. The list includes Cartesian Consulting, Toppr, Goldsman Sach, Inmobi, Myntra, Leap & Scale, BNY Mellon, Qubole Software, and Goibibo.

IIITM Gwalior is a much better choice than IIITDM Jabalpur. IIITM Gwalior will be a great choice if the rank of students is around 11k and they are into the IT branch.

• It has a very beautiful green and pollution-free campus. The campus is environment friendly with no pollution-causing vehicles to move across the campus.
• The infrastructure is quite good as per the total number of students enrolled.
• The campus includes centralized AC lecture halls, an open-air theatre, and a large sports complex for the students. The institute has all provision for sports from lawn tennis to swimming.

Coming on to the placement scenarios, this year the placements have been amazing at IIITM Gwalior:

• Two students were placed in Worksop with packages around INR 40 LPA.
• Four students got an offer in Amazon with packages around INR 27.5 LPA.
• The highest package offered by Directi was INR 27.5 LPA.
• Other reputed companies that visited the campus for placement drives were Samsung, TCS, Paytm, Acxiom, American Express, IBM, etc.
