Calicut University BA admission 2024 is ongoing. Calicut University has released the BA Third Allotment for admission in University Teaching Departments and Affiliated Colleges. Candidates who applied for admission can check the Third Allotment result by entering their CAP ID on the Calicut University UGCAP portal @ugcap.uoc.ac.in. Calicut University BA Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible for BA admission at Calicut University, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

The Candidate should be a Citizen of India.
The Candidate should have completed 10 + 2 from a recognised board of Education with a minimum aggregate of 45% for General Category, 40% for SC/ST/OBC Candidates in all subjects.

Calicut University BA Admission Process

Admission to the BA program at Calicut University is based on merit, determined by the candidate's performance in the higher secondary examination. The university conducts admissions through the Centralised Admission Process for UG programs (UGCAP). The admission process usually starts in May-June and the application forms are available online on the official website of the university. Reservation of seats is provided for candidates belonging to different categories, such as Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes, as per the rules of the government.

Calicut University BA Application Process

Fresh applicants have to register themselves on this site in order to access the Application Form.
To register on this site candidate must have a valid email ID.
After registration on this site, candidate has to select BA and fill details in the respective fields.
The Candidate has to select ‘Instant Web Payment System’ and pay the application fees and print the Challan receipt. The Candidate would also get a code through SMS. The Application fees is Rs.800 except late fine fees.
Online payment of entrance examination fee can be through Debit card, credit card, Internet banking or Demand Draft as per instructions given in website.
After paying the fees, Click on Online Registration. A form will be opened on the screen where the Candidate has to fill all necessary details along with Security Code and Challan Number.

Offline Application:

Candidates who have easy reach to the University can apply through Offline Mode. The Candidate have to buy form by paying fees and submit all the necessary details along with necessary documents. The Candidate have to check all the details carefully.

Calicut University BA Cut Offs

Government-aided or Un-aided Courses in aided colleges get 50% reservation of seats. Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes get 20% reservation of seats. Socially and Economically Backward Community get 20% reservation and Economically Backward among Forwarding Community get 10% reservation of seats in the University.

As a student of ZGC i really love the ambience and the positive mindset we can have from there .
My college have a fantastic place to relax named Kailasam , it' so beautiful and peaceful to visit there

The college canteen don't provide non veg
The college was on the top and net work is slow

My course was a double main course and it was difficult but with the help of teachers we can climb it . My college was under the Calicut University and the exam schedule was hectic so stress full and there's no time. But the new changes gave a difference from the old system. That's a relief The internal exams are very hectic because the teachers conduct the exams lastly and we can't focus on them , but not so bad The semester exams are okay okay not so good or bad , sometimes it's very difficult to get mark

No mens hostel provided by college and no college auditorium

The course is a relevant course right now tourism has many job opportunities may be it's the biggest job industry right now. The curriculum is good but there are lot of unwanted subjects that makes you stressed and frequent examination are the other problem

Campus was nice and there is so many departments to explore
The students coming there is also very nice...so friendly and we will get a vibe just bcoz of them

Little bit restrictions are there because of so many securities
The faculties are mostly freshers and doesn't have experience of teaching

I was interested in this course because I had a interesting language and literature. But later I lost that interest and I preferred social work. In teaching curriculum I think they can add more methodology part. Exams had a very time gap.

Best campus life experience

The first thing about Government Victoria college will be the quality of education they are providing.
It is aided fully by the government, and there are required facilities for all the students coming from different backgrounds.

Student politics sometimes hinder the academics.
Technologically both the academics and management is lacking behind.

According to my course which is B A English and Literature, the syllabus is up to date and the papers for learning are good. It addresses all the current social issues to make us aware about the situation in which we are living today. Maybe more importance should be given to indian literature than western literature. Exams were conducted but not on time due to the pandemic hence the publication of results also got delayed.

My college provides several opportunities regarding skill development and career guidance.
My college conducts several programs where the students get to nurture and show off their artistic talents and skills.

My college prohibits the students from entering or exiting the college as per their needs or convenience.

My course curriculum provides me with an adequate learning experience and skill development. I am constantly informed and updated about the fluctuations in my field and am aware of my own identity and personality. But the curriculum does not give the students an awareness of further academic pursuits.

Unveiling JDT- A Candid Review

The teachers are very skilled and experienced. The classes are well explained.
Our college is very helpful for the disabled and the orphans. There are free seats exclusively for them and I believe it's a huge thing to provide free education for those in need.

The infrastructure is small. There are many departments and courses, everything in a single campus.
We have very less clubs and our college follow the typical curriculums.

I'd give it a 6. I'm glad i chose functional english because we all know how important it is to master the skills in English. I particularly chose functional than literature because functional english focuses on the practical side for instance, communication in daily lives, grammar, phonetics etc.

Our exams and results are on time which is very useful that even we can improve if we want to
Our teachers are very experienced and consistent, they’ve been treating us like their own child

Since I had said above that our exams and results are on time but there’s not much time for the lectures and to study
As per the rule there should be 6 months for each semester but we barely got 2/3 months which makes very hard to complete the portion for even teachers too

I chose this course because I want to improve my skills in English actually my course focuses on grammar and functions rather than basic literature in English and since I know the functions very well I am able to speak in English very well and there's one paper named cultural spaces and studies I would suggest that subject to be in every undergraduate course this paper is all about relevant issues in our society (example:- feminism, lgbtq) it has helped us to be more expressive and participative in society. But due to the lack of time, we couldn't complete the portions within the given time

Yes, you can get a scholarship in Calicut University. The name of the scholarship is AICTE Pragati Scholarship. The scholarship is offered to girls only. Besides this, there are some other scholarships offered as well which are MCM and CSS Scholarship and Merit based scholarship.

What is the fees for boys hostel at Calicut University?

The starting hostel fee of Calicut University Hostel is INR 1.63 thousand per year. The hostel fee is very less because it is a State Government University. The hostel fee includes 100 as admission fee, 75 as room rent per month, 75 as electricity and water charges, 250 as caution deposit and 1000 as mess advance.
