The University of Mysore is a renowned institution that attracts students from all over the country. It is everybody's dream to study there and make a successful career for themselves.
Mysore city itself has a charm of its own, with its lush green campus and beautiful surroundings that add a lot of energy to your academics.
The professors at the University of Mysore are fantastic and are dedicated to encouraging students to achieve their goals. They are also taskmasters who challenge students to perform at their best, which can make scoring a decent percentage quite difficult.
There are now many private and deemed universities in India, which provide students with more choices for higher education. However, in my time, there was no choice but to study at either Mysore or Bengaluru, and failing to secure a seat at either of these universities meant jeopardizing one's future.
Both the University of Mysore and Bengaluru University have produced exceptional talent that has contributed to the betterment of the nation. However, my personal preference would be Mysore because of the calmness and serenity that the city brings.

Studying at the University of Mysore can be a great opportunity to receive a high-quality education and benefit from the beauty and serenity of Mysore city.

I have a few friends from the University of Mysore. Here are some tips that they shared with me.

Be friendly with the faculty members and staff.
Attendance is compulsory at this university. You can even get disbarred from giving examinations. So, maintain the required attendance percentage.
Use the library. You will find useful books there. There is also a digital library.
Hostel accommodation is good. Get a bicycle to explore the campus.
Make some friends.
Visit the places nearby campus like Kukkarahalli lake, Gandhi park, etc. Visit the Kannada dept. There are some important Archeological collections.

These are some of the things that you should keep in mind if you are planning to join the University of Mysore.

What are the best things for University of Mysore students to do on weekends?

During weekends, most students of Mysore University plan getaways to nearby places like Chamundi Hill, Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, Devaraja Market, Namdroling Monestry, Somnathpur Temple, etc. Visit Mysore Palace on Sunday evenings. The palace will be illuminated and often there are many activities and cultural activities.

St. Philomena’s Church, Lalitha Mahal, and Jaganmohan Palace have wonderful architecture. Kukkarahalli Lake is the perfect place to sit idly and relax.

The Brindavan Gardens of Mysore has a beautiful array of musical fountains. These fountains change colors and rhythms in tune with the music playing.

It depends on the course you are choosing. Some of Mysore University PG courses are pretty good. The faculty base is excellent. Most of the professors are friendly and cooperative.

You can get decent placements if your academic record is good. M.Tech Computer Science and Technology has the best placement record among the PG courses.

How are the placements at University of Mysore?

College placement is very poor because they will provide only local company and good company s they will provide itz very rare only it Will get good company jobs and they will starts a placement to 2nd year beginning only they will start yours placement but no use for placement and all itx very worst experience to me specially itz very less percentage of people to get a job most of the people will surch there own and joined there self college placement itz very worst they will tell you it's very Good company but if I go for that company itz looking very bad bad placement.

How is the faculty at University of Mysore?

Some faculties were approachable and some were not.. In that I can say the faculty I liked mostly is kini sir and geetha mam.. and the total faculty were around 8 members. In a sem we had 3 exam C2, C2 and C3.. C1 and C2 were for 15+ 15=30 and C3 for 70 marks so total 100 for a single paper and it is similar to all subjects and to all the four sems

Annually we had main two events like freshers day and send off for seniors in our department.. other than this we had ethnic day, orientation programs and other events which depends on the festival or particular important days we had.. we had good classroom with systems and projector facilities.. we also had sports events which includes most the main games and we can participate in that if we had interest

How are the hostels at University of Mysore?

In a room we is stay about 8 members. Food was not that good but to survive we had to eat it. Sometimes no ration was provided to cook. So had to compromise with the limited food. The locality is good which is located inside the university campus.
