How is mechanical engineering of PDPU compared to the mechanical engineering of Nirma?

According to the reviews online and talking to some of my friends, I got to know that both the colleges are really good. Both the colleges have lively atmosphere and culture and also, the faculties are really good and give great placements. You won’t regret joining either of two. Though life in Nirma is a bit tougher and more suffocating than PDPU. But, the Mechanical Engineering department in both the colleges are amazing. But yes, it is much better in Nirma as far as course curriculum and studies are concerned. Placements are good in both colleges. Top companies such as Reliance and Adani Power come to PDPU for recruitment and in Nirma companies such as Cognizant, Evosys, ZS Associates, Reliance participates. So overall if you are getting mechanical at Nirma then go for it. Reality of Nirma University

The fees i pay for one semester is INR 92500. There is a reservation for NRI/Gulf students but their fees are comparitively higher. There are various scholarship opportunities especially if you are from Gujarat.

Nirma is one of the top University located in Gujarat and Number 1 private institute of Gujarat , I'm student of Mechanical branch , Nirma provides you best lab facilities across all the branches , Avg placement of Mechanical is nearly 5-6 LPA , Nirma's schedule is quite busy , my classes start from 11 morning to 6 evening, You must need 85% attendance here , and minimum 75% for attendance review in which you need to provide Genuine reason and below 75% in any case you need to repeat the subject . Nirma has various tech and non tech clubs , Like Robocon , AUV , Stallions , arrow , dies etc tech clubs and Drama club , Music club etc like non tech club and all are best , Even Nirma is Highest time champions of Robocon in national level competition. Nirma has very high cutoff, at 94-95 you got mechanical, Electrical, CIVIL , EI like branches , for ECE this time cutoff was nearly 96.5-97 , and for CSE it's 98.5+.

Review of Mechanical Engineering in Nirma

The yearly fees i am paying for btech is 1,97,050/- It includes all tution fees,lab fees,exam fees and libray charges etc. There are certain scholarship of instutute self like nirma scholarship scheme in which top 10 students get 50k compensation from university. While MYSY scholrship is also there run by state govt education in which tution fees etc gets waived off.But the terms and conditions of that scholarship is decided by state and eleigibity crieteria also. These are the two main scholarship schemes running in college. Also you will get more details about it in " Scholarship schemes Nirma university" on google.

75% attendance is but of burden in some of the cases which is a big factor for some of the students

Per semister you have to pay the fee which is around 94000 and its worthy if you are participating in the activities which are hoing on in campus. There are various stippend which are mentioned in the official website also various amount of scholarships are provided by college itself and goverment also like MYSY specifically for Gujarat students that can easily get you 50k for each year.

A good college if you can afford it

Tution fee isnt hiked or anything and the scholarship opportunities provided are decent and righteously aimed at meritorious students with financial problems. I am a bachelor and hence have not taken any campus employment.

85% attendance criteria is compulsory and if not met we are supposed to do extra assignments.

The fees have been the same for the last few years, there is not much hike in fees. Semester fees: 94000 Stationery: 1500(on an average) Books: 2000-2500 (optional) Financial aid 2 types of scholarships provided by the college 1. Based on merit 2. Based in merit cum means There is also an earn-while-you-learn scheme to help students.

Life in Nirma University

The tuition fees for 1 semester is approximately 100000 which makes it 800000 for the entire b.tech course. No other charges are applicable. Many sponsorships are provided in the entire university based on the merit and reservation and also financial condition of the family. The campus provides many internship and placement opportunities. The placement rate in mechanical engineering is 100%.

It is a well reputed private institution and hence also a bit costly, as the tuition fees is 2 lakhs per year. Currently it has increase to 2.30 lakhs per annum. However there are various scholarships provided by the college itself and also by various institutions in which you can apply for one. Also comparing it with the placements that the college offers then it is worth the cost.
