PRSU Course Admission 2025: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

Ans. Yes, SC/ST/OBC students are awarded relaxations at PRSU during admissions. While preparing the merit-list, a relaxation of 5% marks in the aggregate shall be given to students belonging to SC/ST/OBC. In addition to relaxation, these students also have seats reserved for them. 12% of seats are reserved for SC, 32% for ST, and 14% for OBC students. 

Ans. Yes, Migrant students from Kashmir are awarded the following concessions at PRSU: 

(i) Relaxation in cut-off percentage of upto 10% subject to minimum eligibility requirement. 

(ii) Increase in intake capacity of upto 5% course-wise. 

(iii) Reservation of at least one seat in merit quota in technical/ professional institutions. 

(iv) Waiving off domicile requirements.

Ans. Students who wish to apply for courses at Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University must accompany their application with the following self-attested documents:

• Domicile certificate and other weightage claim certificate
• Caste certificate, wherever applicable
• Certificate showing date of birth
• Marksheet/certificate of the qualifying examination. 

Ans. No, students who want to opt for two courses at the same time at PRSU will not be allowed to do so. No student can study as a regular student in one course and as a private student in the other course nor can they appear for the examinations. If any student does so, he/she will be penalised and their admission will be cancelled. However, this provision is an exception to the students studying Diploma in Languages and Certificate Course in Translation. 

Ans. Students at PRSU are required to have a certain percentage of attendance in order to be eligible for their examinations. A student of Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University is required to have 75% attendance in classes and 75% attendance each for subjects with both theory and practical. In case of failure of students to meet the minimum attendance eligibility, they won't be allowed to appear for examinations.

Ans. The names of students might be cancelled from the list due to their misconduct or some other reason. The list of students at PRSU shall be crossed out due to following reasons: 

(i) If the conduct of the students in the School of Studies is not good

(ii) If his/ her progress in studies is not satisfactory

(iii) If the Vice-Chancellor deems it fit to cancel his/ her name.

Ans. Yes, students who wish to change their subject at PRSU. If a student wants to change from one School of Study to another or wishes to change his/her subject, he/she can do so with the permission from both the old and new Schools of Studies. However, students are also required to pay a fee for changing their subjects. A transfer fee of INR 100 and admission fee of INR 60 must be paid.

Ans. NRI (Non-Resident Indian) students who take admission in any of the courses at PRSU will be required to pay an additional fee. Along with the normal fee, NRI students must also pay an additional fee of 1 lakh. The normal fee includes immigration fee, enrolment fee, admission fee, identity card fee, gymnasium fee, endowment fund, applicant aid fund, library fee, etc.

Ans. Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University provides concessions to all its undergraduate female students. As per the government order, PRSU exempts all its female students studying at graduation level from the course tuition fees. This concession is offered to the students irrespective of their department/course in the university. 

Ans. PRSU fee can also be paid online on the official website of the university. Students who want to pay their fee online must follow the steps mentioned below:

• Visit the university's website, @www.online.prsu.ac.in. 
• Select the mode of payment and enter your mobile number
• Click on 'OTP Send'
• Enter the 4-digit OTP you've received and press 'Submit' button
• Fill in all your details
• Click on 'Make Payment' 
• Choose your desired payment method and complete the transaction
• Download the payment receipt for future reference

Ans. Fee concession facility at PRSU is given for the employees of the university and their dependents i.e. son, daughter, husband, and wife for doing the general course. University employees will also get concession in Ph.D. fees as per the Ph.D. Ordinance. However, no fee concession for courses being run under a self-financed scheme would be provided to the son, daughter, or wife of the teacher, officer and employees of the university. 

Ans. The hostel fee at PRSU is quite reasonable. The total hostel fee is divided into different categories namely:

• Admission & ID card, INR 60 per session
• Hostel Caution Money, INR 300 per session
• Amalgamated Fund, INR 70 per session
• Development fee (hostel & garden), INR 600 & 250 per session.

Apart from this, INR 120 p.m. is to be paid as a fee for electricity and water supply. Moreover, a single-seated room costs INR 270 p.m, a double-seated room costs INR 200 p.m. and the women research hostel rent is INR 300 p.m.

Ans. The study hours for PRSU School of Studies normally begins from 10:30 a.m. and ends at 5:30 p.m. Moreover, the working hours for literature, language, philosophy & yoga at the university is from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. In case of special circumstances, this time schedule can be changed with the permission of the Vice Chancellor. Information about the changes in the time should be personally collected by the students themselves from the Head of SoS.

Ans. PRSU provides accommodation to its male and female students at its hostels. Currently, the university has two boys hostels, namely, Gandhi Hostel and Azad Hostel and has four separate hostels for girls. All these hostels have a disciplined environment and are well-equipped with all the basic amenities. There's a recreation room, computer centre with internet, gym, and playground at these hostels. Only those students who are from outside of Raipur are eligible for admission to the hostel. Moreover, if in any case the number of candidates exceeds the number of seats available, allotment will be made based on the marks/percentage.

Ans. NCC cadets are given a certain percentage of weightage depending on their level or position. An NCC cadet is given the following weightage:

• NCC "A" Certificate - 2%
• NCC "B" Certificate - 3%
• NCC "C" Certificate - 4%
• Students representing State level N.C.C. Directorial competition - 4%
• NCC Student participating in Republic Day Parade in New Delhi - 5%
• Scouts of Governor - 5%
• Scouts of President - 10%
• Best NCC Cadet of Chhattisgarh - 10%
• Duke of Edinburgh Awarded NCC Cadet - 10%

Ans. Several diploma courses in languages are offered at Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University. The course duration is one-year with a tuition fee of INR 3190 per annum. The different diploma language courses PRSU offers are diploma in English, Russian, German, French, and Sindhi. These courses have a total student intake of 30, except for diploma in Sindhi where the total seats intake is 40. 

Ans. Yes, at PRSU students can get their library caution money refunded. In order to claim the refund, tha student must take the no dues certificate from the library, office of the SoS, hostel (for hostellers) and send it to the office of the Registrar along with the application. Once the work is completed, the applicant will be notified. However, the applicant must keep in mind that application for refund must be sent within one year of leaving the SoS and the caution money is refunded only during summer vacation and.

Ans. Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University has multiple research centres for its students and faculty. Some of these research centres are National Center for Natural Resources, Center for Cognitive Science, Center for Translational Chronobiology, Centre for Nano-Science and Nano-Technology, Centre for Geriatrics and Gerontology, Centre for Megaproject in MW Astronomy, Centre for Integrated Tribal Studies, Centre for Herbal Drug Technology, etc to name a few.

Ans. Around 5 specialisations are offered in M.Lib.I.Sc at Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University. These specialisations include Public Library, Bibliometrics, Information Need, Management Information System, and Personnel Management. M.Lib.I.Sc is a one-year course at PRSU and has 10 free seats and 10 paid seats available. The tuition fee for free seats is INR 1740 per sem, whereas for paid seats, the tuition fee is INR 14,520 per sem.

Ans. The basic eligibility criteria for M.Tech in Opto Electronics and Laser Technology at Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University is to pass M.Sc. Ele./Ele. Sc. / Physics./Applied Physics/B.Tech. 

or B.E. or equivalent degree exam approved by UGC/AMIETE/AICTE or Electronics Engg. or Electrical Engg. 

with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks. This is a two-year course with a tuition fee of INR 12,100 per semester. The course has a total of 20 seats and 2 sponsored seats.
