As far as the EEE at BITS Pilani is concerned, I am strongly against anyone joining BITS irrespective of the branch they choose. The curriculum is poorly structured and lacks flexibility. The placement scenario is deteriorating day by day. The exposure offered is null and thus BITS Pilani should be your last option when all doors are closed. You will end up wasting your time and money with no solid knowledge up your sleeve by the end of 4 years. Those who have a branch change of mind should take the batch strength into consideration as only 10% of the batch is allowed to opt out of EP. Thus, unless you're certain of EP, I would recommend you go for BITS or top NITs. This will help you if you are looking for a core course.

The tuition fee is ₹1Lakh for general category and slightly or significantly less for students from SC,ST or low income groups. I will attach a detailed fee structure as it would be really hectic to write all the different kinds of fees. Mess and hostel fee is common for all which is ₹18000 and ₹7100 respectively including all amenities. I will be paying around ~₹2.2 Lakh for my Btech course of 4 years as I belonge to low income family. I got a full waiver on my tuition fee.The fees for most of the IITs is almost similar. Apart from fees you would hardly need ₹3000-₹4000 for your monthly expenses as IITG is a residential college so you don't need to spend any extra amount for groceries and transport. The fee is different for different categories of students. You get waiver on your tuition fee depending on your parents income and category. Almost everyone with a valid income certificate and affidavit gets a waiver on their tuition fees. Some even get a montly stipend.

IIT Guwahati College Review 2024

The Total fee per year is around 260000. and you can avail tution fees waiver if you belong to SC/ST category which is around 200000 per year. and only you have to pay for Hostel, Mess and other miscellaneous fees. And if you belong to OBC category or have family income below 5 Lac per year then you can avail some fee discount in tution fees. And after that you have scholarship benefits like MCM scholarship etc.

The Truth

A general category student has to pay around 130000 per semester. Whereas SC and ST students are required to pay 30000 per semester. They don't have to pay the tution fee of 100000. This fee included hostel rent, tution fees, mess food, and other services. Many scholarships are available and offered by the Institute such as MCM Scholarships, and Indian Oil Scholarship Schemes. After 4 years, a lot of companies visit the campus for placement season and most of the students get a job.

Great placements and college life

There is a general fee hike policy which is set by the Indian Government of a 10% fee increment every year. The cost to study is not very high and one also gets scholarships for performing extraordinary in academics. Campus jobs are given as Lab assistantships with a stipend of around 1000rs per lab of 3 hours.
