Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University is also known as College of Veterinary Sciences, Proddatur is established in 2008 in Proddatur, in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University offers various Undergraduate (UG) programs like B.Sc, B.V.Sc and B.Tech and Postgraduate (PG) programs such as M.Tech, MS, M.Sc and M.V.Sc along with Ph. D programs in different branches of Veterinary, Dairy and Fishery Sciences, to promote farmer oriented and need-based research to develop harvest and post-harvest technologies.
Selection in all the bachelors’ courses will be done on the basis of an entrance examination of Andhra Pradesh called EAMCET.
The admission to M.F.Sc. and M.Tech will depend on the marks in B.F.Sc/B.Tech(Dairy) which will be 30% of the total weightage and on performance in PG Entrance test which will be 70% of the total weightage. The PhD selection will be done on the basis of marks in entrance exam, master’s degree, bachelor’s degree and interview in the ratio 50:20:10:20.

Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University offers UG programs such as Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc.and AH), B.Tech (Food Technology), B.Sc. and B.F.Sc. In order to meet the eligibility criteria, a candidate needs to score at least 50% marks in 10+2 or intermediate examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects. Admission to B.Tech, B.Sc. (Hons.), B.V.Sc. and B.Tech. programmes is done through a state level entrance test known as AP-EAMCET.

The university has a number of different courses to offer at the postgraduate level, viz. Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Fisheries Science (M.F.Sc) and Master of Veterinary Science (M.V.Sc).
Candidates seeking admission into any of the Master’s Degree courses must have passed the relevant Bachelor’s Degree examination specified against each course from Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University /ANGR Agricultural University or an institution accredited by ICAR/VCI. Admission to the postgraduate courses is done through a comprehensive Entrance test followed by a counselling round conducted by the university.

- Out of the total seats, 85% of the seats will be reserved for AP applicants and 15% seats will be open for both AP and Telangana applicants given that the latter category candidates appear for an entrance test.
- The maximum age limit for MFSc and MTech courses is 40 years.
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST and OBC categories will get 15%, 6% and 29% reservation respectively.
- The university has a provision of giving 3% seat reservation to Physically Handicapped candidates.
- 1/3rd of the total seats shall be reserved for women. If there won’t be any female candidate they they seats will be given to male candidates.
- The entrance test for this will be of 200 MCQs. The minimum qualifying marks for taking admission in these courses is 40%. For the SC/ST/OBC candidates there are no minimum qualifying marks.

Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University also offers doctoral level programs which award Ph.D. degree. The Ph.D programs are provided in the field of Animal husbandry, Veterinary, Dairy and Fishery Sciences, etc. The minimum qualification an aspirant needs to have is a Master’s degree in the respective field with the minimum required marks.
Candidates who are eligible for the Ph.D. program, need to sit for an entrance test conducted by the University and the final merit list will be prepared considering the marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance test as well as the previous qualifying examination.

- The registration charge for the application for the general category is INR 1100/- whereas for SC/ST/PH candidates it is INR 550 which can only be paid through online mode, preferably in Andhra Bank or any other nationalised bank favouring, “Comptroller, SVVU" payable at Tirupati, Account No. 209810100016530, I.F.Sc. Code ANDB0002098, should reach the Registrar, SVVU, Administrative Office, Dr.Y.S.R.Bhavan, TIRUPATI -517502, A.P. on or before the due date either in Person or by Registered post.
