How is the ranking for new IITs for Mtech CSE, IIT Patna, IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Ropar, IIT Bhubaneswar, Indore, Jodhpur, and Mandi (in terms of placement, coding and academic workload)

Based on placements, coding culture, and academic environment here is how I will rank the second-generation IITs IIT Hyderabad takes the first place because of its location in the IT hub of India. The preferable location attracts many reputed firms like Goldman Sachs, NVIDIA, JP Morgan, INTEL, Qualcomm, and Microsoft. IIT Gandhinagar comes second again because of its location and the type of recruiters it attracts. It might not have companies like Qualcomm, INTEL, or JP Morgan Chase but other big shots like Nutanix, Microsoft, GS visit the campus frequently. Even IIT Indore and IIT Bhubaneswar are ranked second as they are similar. Both IIT Jodhpur and IIT Ropar are equal in rankings and are placed 3rd in this list because of their location. These colleges provide excellent opportunities for CS students who are at par with IITs like Hyderabad, Gandhinagar, Jodhpur, Indore, and Bhubaneswar. I would rank IIT Mandi the last because of its poor location. The college has zero connectivity and no big companies care to visit for placements. IIT Mandi is a good option for those who want to study in a peaceful environment away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Overall, most IITs are similar, and thus distance from home should be the major criterion to be considered.

Which one is considered better, IIT Hyderabad for an M.Tech CSE (RA) or BITS Pilani for CSE?

Before I begin, let me clear the misconception that the 3-year MTech program is inferior in quality to the 2-year MTech program. Because of this false assumption, the higher ranking MTech students tend to choose the 2-year MTech programs instead of the 3-year program. Similarity In reality, the credibility of the degree you are awarded and the credits requirement of both programs are equal. Differences The difference is that you will have to invest more time in your RA (research assistantship) duties. 3 year MTech is funded from research projects so you will be working on research projects quite early. 3 years are more than enough to get publications with the right determination and hard work. This is extremely beneficial for higher studies as well as making the most out of your skills. Both IIT Hyderabad and IIT Bombay offer 3-year MTech programs. There may be some other IITs as well offering similar programs. Between BITS and IIT Hyderabad, I think the latter is a better option from a research point of view. Additionally, IIT Hyderabad also has a locational advantage, better connectivity, industry, expert interactions, etc.

Which is better: M.Tech in CSE from IIT Hyderabad or M.tech in theoretical computer science in IIT Guwahati?

Assuming that you are research-oriented, I suggest you choose IIT Guwahati MTech in theoretical CS rather than MTech in CSE from IIT Hyderabad. From the choice of your research-related subjects, theoretical CS seems to be the best option. Moreover, the Mathematics and Computer Science department of IIT Guwahati is extremely good with a knowledgeable faculty base. MTech at IIT Hyderabad on the other hand is more focused on campus-related work rather than actual theoretical knowledge of the subjects. It’s important to check if the research interests of the faculty align with your subject interests.

How do you compare M.Tech from CSE between IIT Hyderabad and IIT Guwahati in all terms?

Here is a comparison of IIT Hyderabad CSE and IIT Guwahati based on some common parameters. Campus: IIT Guwahati has a much better campus than IIT Hyderabad as the latter is still in its construction phase. NIRF Ranking: IIT Hyderabad Overall ranking by NIRF is 14 out of 200 colleges in India in 2022 while IIT Guwahati Overall ranking by NIRF is 8 out of 200 colleges in India in 2022. Faculty: The CSE department of IIT Guwahati has a higher number of faculty members than IIT Hyderabad. Faculty members at IIT Hyderabad are young and dynamic, always ready to explore new ideas. They also frequently change the pedagogy style to break the monotony and keep up with the recent trends. IIT Guwahati is quite lacking in this aspect. Locational advantage: Being located in close proximity to the IT hub, IIT Hyderabad offers a huge locational advantage thus increasing exposure through invited talks and collaborations with industry experts in IIT Hyderabad. Research: As far as the research is concerned, IIT Hyderabad clearly is the winner here. The CSE department of IIT Hyderabad has many better-ranked papers in comparison to the CSE department of IIT Guwahati. Computing facilities: IIT Hyderabad's computing facilities are great. Sparing the campus issue, CSE from IIT Hyderabad seems to be a better option than CSE from IIT Guwahati.

How is self-sponsored MTech CSE at IIT Hyderabad? Are we allowed to sit in the placement during the final year along with other student?

In terms of academics both self-sponsored MTech at IIT Hyderabad and regular MTech at IIT Hyderabad are similar. The number of credits required to be completed is equal in both programs. Additionally, students of both programs are eligible for placements and no discrimination is done between the students of regular and self-sponsored MTech.

Fees and Financial Aid:

According to me Rs. 1.60 lakhs as the entire fee is a nominal amount since i come from a good financial background. There are a lot of scholarships available for the students like the Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities, Merit Cum Means Scholarship For Professional and Technical Courses, SC/ST Scholarship, and Merit Cum Means Scholarship. There were students from my class who availed of scholarship on the basis of merit.

Fee Structure And Facilities:

Nearly 50000 per semester, which includes hostel fee, mess fee and course fee. As you are GATE qualified, you will also get 12400 rupees per month from MHRD as stipend. So basically expenditure from parents pocket is -ve.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This is really good platform to improve the basic skills in any research domain someone is interested because faculties are very highly educated in various domains. Teaching method is also good. Term exams are very difficult to pass unless we go rigorously to study properly.

About IIT Hyderabad in a nut shell

The fee for M. Tech students selected through gate is very reasonable and less. Although the students will get stipend every month which the student can save some money for semester fee. There will be good package in campus placements.

We get 12400 per month sponsored by mhourd Mtechs get a stipend of rs 12400 every month by mhourd. Mtech Ras get money depending on their project. Btech student also get if they choose to work as ta under some professor.
