Entrance Exam Details
The primary entrance exam for BCA admission at GITAM is the GAT (GITAM Admission Test). The GAT exam for BCA and computer science programs follows this pattern:

Candidates with valid scores in national-level entrance exams such as JEE Main, AP EAPCET, TS EAPCET, CUET (UG), or NEET may be exempted from GAT as per eligibility criteria. Merit-based scholarships are awarded based on GAT performance, with better scores securing higher scholarship percentages.

Eligibility Criteria
A minimum of 50% or 5.0 CGPA aggregate marks in Intermediate or 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (or Biology, Maths, Economics, Commerce, or Intermediate Vocational with Computers) from a recognized Central or State Board or its equivalent is required.
Candidates must have qualified in GAT (GITAM Admission Test) or possess valid scores in accepted national-level entrance exams such as JEE Main, AP EAPCET, TS EAPCET, CUET (UG), or NEET.
Students from Science stream with PCM or PCB are eligible to apply, provided they meet the minimum aggregate requirement.
Admission Process
Step 1: Online Application - Register on the official GITAM admission portal (apply.gitam.edu) with valid email and mobile number. Fill in personal, academic, and entrance exam details. Select BCA as the preferred course and Visakhapatnam as the campus. Upload required documents and pay the non-refundable application fee of Rs. 1,200.
Step 2: Entrance Test - Appear for the GAT exam on the scheduled date (March 28-29, 2026, or any other available date through August 31, 2026). The exam is conducted online at GITAM centers.
Step 3: Personal Interview - Shortlisted candidates based on GAT performance will be called for a personal interview to assess aptitude and subject knowledge.
Step 4: Merit List and Counseling - Merit lists are prepared based on GAT scores and academic performance. Participate in counseling (online/offline) to confirm program and campus preferences. Seat allotment is based on merit and availability.
Step 5: Document Verification and Fee Payment - Submit original documents for verification. Pay the tuition fee within the given deadline through the admission portal. Scholarship candidates must complete required formalities. Admission is confirmed only after fee payment and document verification.
