Dislikes
- To be honest, I am very happy in St Andrews, but a couple of things I did not fancy are: 1. Student accommodations are costly (But this is not a concern for funded students as the funding is sufficient to cover this but is a concern for self-funded students)
- It has an open campus, so you miss campus life.
Scholarship
- Of course, most PhD programs are funded by UKRI, and some students bring their funding from their country. In my case, I am funded by East of Scotland Industrial Catalysis (UKRI). The eligibility is first-class BSc (Honours) or MSc.
- The award amount approx is £45000 per year (this increases every year). In this stipend is approx £ 19000 and £26000 is for tuition fees.
- Yes, most in my group and batch have received funding.
- In my department, roughly every year, 15-20 new students start with this fellowship with full awards.

- Difficulty in finding student accommodation in the town.

- Climate is generally cold all year round, high levels of wind.
Scholarship
- I did not receive any scholarships as I was past the deadline for scholarships.
- Nobody in my batch requested financial aid. Every classmate was from well-to-do elite families in different parts of the world.
- Usually, 50% of tuition is the typical award amount, and everyone who applies before the deadline is considered. I am not sure about the averages.

Likes
- Amazing student satisfaction scores, great school of CS (especially for HCI), beautiful place.
- St Andrews not just as a university but also as a place has a lot to offer. People did say its small but within its small area it encompasses the first time meridian, 7 golf courses, the place of the discovery of calculus, beautiful walks, a 600 year old castle. The university itself offers immense facilities such as a prompt student helpline, supportive and motivating professors, cozy library and study areas etc.
Dislikes
- Lack of halal food options in catered halls, more copies of updated editions of some books in the library, more scholarship opportunities and the fact that The university has not taken credit for the work it has produced.
