India-Specific and External Scholarships at USW
Indian applicants funded at USW typically combine an internal USW scholarship with an external Indian or UK government scholarship. The four major external funders for UK-bound Indian students apply to USW applicants:
| Scholarship | Award Value | Eligibility | Deadline |
|---|---|---|---|
| GREAT Scholarship (USW) | £10,000 (₹12.90 Lakhs) | Indian PG taught applicants in select subjects | Tentative March 2027 (British Council India) |
| Chevening Scholarship | Full tuition + £18,000+ stipend (₹35+ Lakhs total) | Indian PG taught applicants with 2 years of work experience | Tentative 7 October 2026 |
| Commonwealth Master's Scholarship | Full tuition + stipend (₹35+ Lakhs) | Indian applicants with development-focused goals | Tentative October 2026 |
| Inlaks Shivdasani Scholarship | Up to USD 100,000 (₹84 Lakhs) | Indian applicants under 30 with strong academics | Tentative April 2027 |
| JN Tata Endowment | ₹10 Lakhs loan + ₹7.5 Lakhs gift | Indian applicants for any subject at any UK university | Tentative March 2027 |
Note: Chevening recipients face one structural restriction: the scholarship does not permit the UK Post-Study Work Graduate Route or Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Chevening scholars must return to India for 2 years after the programme. The GREAT Scholarship has no such restriction and is the more practical option for Indian applicants targeting UK long-term careers.

University of South Wales Scholarships: Frequently Asked Questions
Ques. What is the maximum scholarship stack at USW for an Indian PG applicant?
Ans. The International Office Scholarship (£2,000) is automatically applied and can stack with the GREAT Scholarship (£10,000) for a total of £12,000 (₹16.13 Lakhs) off Year 1 tuition. Subject-specific awards like the Cyber Security Scholarship (£3,000) can replace the standard auto-scholarship but not stack on top of GREAT.
Ques. When should I apply for USW scholarships?
Ans. The International Office Scholarship is auto-considered with admission. The GREAT Scholarship application opens in late January 2027 and closes in March 2027 via British Council India. Chevening opens in early August 2026 and closes in early October. Plan to secure a USW offer by February 2026 to allow time for both internal and external scholarship applications.
Ques. How do I apply for the GREAT Scholarship at USW?
Ans. The GREAT Scholarship application is managed by British Council India, not USW directly. You must first apply for a USW course and receive a conditional or unconditional offer. Then complete the GREAT application form on the British Council India website with a personal statement, CV, and USW offer letter.
Ques. Are USW scholarships automatic, or do they need a separate application?
Ans. The International Office Scholarship (£2,000)and MBA Global Scholarship (£2,500) are all auto-considered with the admission offer. The GREAT Scholarship (£10,000) and Sports Scholarship require separate applications.
Ques. Do USW scholarships cover living costs?
Ans. Internal USW scholarships are tuition discounts only, not stipends. Living costs in Wales (about £700 to £1,000 or ₹90,300 to ₹1.29 Lakhs/month) must be funded separately through Indian education loans, family savings, or part-time work (up to 20 hours/week on the UK student visa). External scholarships like Chevening and Commonwealth do include monthly living stipends.

Some people visited at Sea Shell for their introduction about the university and from their I got to know about this and then I searched on internet and I found this university to be relevant for me.
Scholarship
NO
I have done PGCM from Lexicon Management Institute in which I completed 80 credits. The University of South Wales offered a course that could conclude with a degree of MBA Global. Another reason for choosing this University was the affordability that they offered. United Kingdom is the country which can greatly enhance your career and hence I chose University of South Wales in UK.
Scholarship
I have received a scholarship from the university itself for which I was automatically considered as I completed my bachelor with them. It did not require a separate application. The amount is $6000.
The University provides a very hands-on approach in this particular program with the help of mock crime scenes, which helps prepare you for your career in the actual field.
