Campus Life

Campus life is vibrant, I met lot of people from different countries and different ethnicity.

I stayed in university accommodation, there is no criteria for shortlisting as it is based on first come first serve basis. Meal depends on accommodation price, for lower rate the meal variety was less. In a week every Sunday we used to get special meal in dinner.

The great thing was the campus facility was open 24x7 which was great. Whenever you feel about studying or working on the research, there is no time bound to the stay in the library which was quite huge. The sports building was equipped with state of the art facilities, gym and Olympic size swimming pool.

The cost of living in university accommodation was anywhere between 70£ to 150£ per week. The facilities varied with the pricing.

Campus Life

We didn't experienced much campus life because the time when I came in UK, it was badly infected by COVID and didn't got an opportunity to have on campus classes.

The student accommodations are shared rooms between 2 students. The rent per student is about £700 - £800 per month in central London. If you move to the city outskirts then it comes down to £500 - £600 per month for 1 bedroom.

I chose Northumbria University as I had a lot of recommendations about this university from my tutors and friends. This University is in the top 50 best university ranking list for the UK. This university also had the course I was looking to study and also offered an advanced practice semester where we can either secure an internship with a company or work on a research project to get a better understanding of the field.

There are a lot of options online and it's much more affordable and they do provide lots of discounts for early booking and low monthly basis.

I have shared a private apartment with my friend. Here in Newcastle Upon Tyne, the city is also called student city and everything is very cheap including food and house. We also get discounts and offers when you hold a student card. New entries can go for both university accomodation and private accomodation as both are equally safe in UK.

I have considered the faculty achievements, course popularity, university infrastructure and placement year oppurtunity.

Great facilities. The library has all the facilities like reading rooms, silent rooms, and the health centre has a great set up too. Classrooms were well furnished.

The course had the modules I was interested in. I heard good reviews about the city.

No private apartment near the university. I stay with friends and mine is the student city and we find it cheap compared to other cities and universities. Sharing will create network with others.

The business course in my university is so much developed in the recent year and it is being in the top list in UK. Other main reason is We got 1 year as placement year where we can either work for clients in Our university's own business clinic or we can go for some internships. Along with this we also have dissertation where we can go for our own thesis writing.

I lived on campus in my first year in an accommodation called Claude Gibb. It offers catering, has shared bathrooms, and has common rooms for socializing. It was usually quite lovely because of the large number of students occupying it, diverse as well because of the international crowd.

Despite being a new university, it was within the UK top 15 for my course. It has good labs, facilities, and faculty and is located in a really good student city.
