Course Curriculum

  • The course material itself was of moderate difficulty. The self-study material was obviously quite theoretical with books, PDFs, news articles and videos
  • The coursework however was very practical and involved conducting case-studies in class or undertaking projects followed by a presentation of results
  • The course was overwhelmingly positive in my experience, with a core focus on experiential learning
  • I think there were about 160 students overall split into two class groups. I think there were about 15 Indian students out of a class of 160

Fees

  • My Fee is:
    • GBP 30,000 (total fees)
    • Upfront or in two split payments throughout the year
    • My monthly expenses (approximate):
    • Rent (with all bills included): GBP 1000-1200 per month
    • Transport: GBP 200-300 per month
    • Groceries: GBP 60-100 per month
    • Phone: GBP 5 per month
    • Other regular expenses that one can expect to pay:
    • Internet: GBP 25-45 per month
    • Phone: GBP 25-50 per month

  • The course isn’t too hard if you focus, but it’s very intense because of the workload. A good mix of theory and practical case studies. My batch was about 315 students, divided into smaller streams. Around 20% were Indians.

Fees

  • My course fee was £39,000 for the year. Paid 10% upfront and the rest later, though installments are possible. Rent was about £2,000 a month when I stayed very close to campus. Groceries and other expenses depend; I’ve seen friends manage on £200, and others spend £500+.

  • The course is quite difficult as the batch cohort has the students from all top universities from around the world with excellent academic record and well as a holistic profile.
  • The courses where a mix of both theoretical and practical concepts.

Fees

  • Tuition Fees/annual- GBP 41,750
  • Since 1 year course, so Total fees was also GBP 41,750. It can be paid in one go or in 2 installments of 50% each.
  • Other Expenses:
  1. Living Expenses: 1300 GBP/month (I live near the campus so a bit higher rent)
  2. Fooding & Transport: 100 GBP/month
  3. Overall: 1500/month (London is quite expensive)
  4. For others it ranges from 1000 to 2500 GBP/month. So its totally upto the individual how much they want to save and spend.

Course Curriculum

  • The course is designed to engage students from all walks of the life and hence, it starts From basic level of difficulty in the first semester and general topics are touched upon.
  • First sem is mostly theoretical with a few group discussions and projects.
  • Second semester is more specific. I was enrolled in Environment Analysis and Assessment specialization. This was more on a practical side, with two projects and a site visit.
  • Third sem was for a research project or internship,Hence, overall it was mix of various aspects.
  • The variety of ways in which we were equipped with projects is the positive aspect.

Fees

  • My fee was completely taken care of by Chevening Scholarship and it was directly paid to the college in 2-3 installments. There was a direct connect between the School and the Scholarship team.
  • Hostel was on students as Imperial doesn't provide accommodation. Therefore, I arranged for a private accommodation for myself.
  • Barring tuition fee, I used to get a stipend of about 1200 UK pounds per month to take care of all the expenses.

  • The difficulty level was not much high for those who attended classes regularly and were consistent with notes. Most of the students managed to score merit.
  • Positive aspect was that it had diverse topics. Negative that it was not well assembled or planned.
  • We were allowed to do 20hr part time per week during coursework but no assistance was given on how to find one.

Fees

  • 32 lakhs for course work. Paid in 2 parts.
  • I stayed in seperate private accommodation with 2 other people i.e 3 bed 2 bath
  • 1200 pounds for accommodation, 100 for transport, 100 for food and other expenses. Then it varies according to the lifestyle you are living. I used to go to the gym which costs me another 40 pounds per month. If people party a lot then it charges 100 more pounds.

The course curriculum is quite updated, and it was relevant to what is happening in the industry. Most professors were so well versed with the topics that it felt more like a class where they would be sharing personal experiences that would cover the different elements of the subject. It was a great way to learn from experts. One of the most notable memories is from a person from the Bank of England who talked about how inflation is calculated by the bank and provided information about the consumer price index and different functions within the bank.

Fees

£36,000 it has increased now.

The course curriculum and academics for the MSc Science Media Production at Imperial College London are top-notch. The syllabus is very updated and relevant, reflecting the latest advancements and trends in the field. The quality of the teachers is exceptional; for example, there was one instance where we were taught from a research paper published just two days before our lecture, which I found pretty amazing and a testament to Imperial's quality of education. Additionally, I gained valuable industry experience at BBC Studios as a Developmental Researcher for a science documentary series on Evolution during April and May.
