Course Curriculum

10

  • My course was quite challenging; modules included both assignments and projects which are supposed to be submitted on time. This was quite challenging.
  • The modules are interesting; this is the positive part, the negative part is we didn’t have enough time to finish our assignments , due to less time, we panicked and could not do well with our assignments.
  • We used to have 3 to 4 classes in a day. Easy class was about 1 hr.
  • There were 40 students in my class. There were 25 Indian students in my class.

Admission Experience

  • I applied for both Queen marry university London and university of Dundee
  • I got accepted at both the universities.
  • No, there are no other universities I applied to.
  • I didn’t get rejection from other universities because I applied only for queen marry and Dundee university, I got accepted from both the universities; in that, I chose Dundee uni.
  • I chose Dundee uni because of the university ranking and modules they were offering, and the campus. I usually prefer quiet places. For students who are looking for a quiet place to study, Dundee uni is a great choice.
  • I applied online with sop and lor and other documents, once it’s accepted I received CAS.
  • 6.5 is the eligibility criteria to get accepted. It was smooth and easy.

Faculty

8

  • The relation between student and faculty is very good; due to this, our doubts used to get cleared.
  • Faculties used to use both projector and board to teach. Yes, it was sufficient to secure a job
  • Yeah, faculties do help students to find internships but not all faculties do this; this is a drawback, if all the faculties helped us to find job , it would have been easy for us to secure jobs.

Campus Life

Part Time Jobs

  • It’s very rare that students secure job as TA, RAs or DAs.
  • Usually TA, RA, or DAs get a salary of about 26000 pounds per annum
  • Students can work in the cafeteria and stores present on campus and can also join student associations. Dundee uni has a student association called DUSA, which is very good for international students. Students get pay range 10 to 12 pounds per hour
  • The maximum hours of work allowed for a student is 20 hours a week. Students should not exceed 20 hours
  • It’s quite difficult because of competition in between students to secure a job.
  • Students earn around 12 to 14 pounds per hour; it depends on what type of part-time job they are doing. 2. It’s quite difficult because of the competition present between students. 3. Students can apply for jobs through indeed or contact the student association; if there’s any opportunity, they will let students know. If applicable, if selected, they call for an interview and do the remaining procedure.

Placement

2

  • Securing a job in 6 months has become very difficult for students who graduate. Job market has become very low. So only 1 graduate out of 10 graduates will secure a job in 6 months.
  • Students will apply through company websites, contacting agency or approaching employees in LinkedIn
  • Dundee university doesn’t have a placement option; students should search for jobs on their own.
  • There are many companies like GE, Medtronic, Siemens healthineers etc.

Accommodation

Off Campus
8

  • I found accommodation through apps like SpareRoom and Glassdoor.
  • I used to pay 400 pounds, which excludes the electricity and water bills.
  • Finding accommodations is very difficult due to the number of students coming to study.
  • Yes, I suggest students search for accommodation through apps, or if they have any friends or family members living there, they can take their help.
  • My accommodation was only 15 minutes walking distance to the university.

Exams

  • Dundee uni accepts IELTS, TOEFL, PTE
  • Documents like SOP, LOR, and CV are very important. One should provide all these documents while applying.
  • Yeah, they conducted an interview and asked questions about my UG , the modules I studied, and basic questions about the modules that are being offered by Dundee uni. They also test our English language, like how compatible we are with the English language.

Fees

  • Total fees was 27000 pounds; I paid 22000 pounds, because university provided a 5000 pounds scholarship and 12000 pounds as living expenses
  • Students can pay fees, monthly, yearly or half-yearly; this is very helpful for students who paying on their own
  • 1000 pounds, including rent, travelling and groceries. But expenses depend on the person; sometimes expenses go up to 1500 pounds.

Scholarship

  • Yes, I received a 5000 pounds scholarship.
  • I received 5000 pounds. There’s no particular name for the scholarship; the university provides this scholarship for the students who got good grades in their bachelor’s.
  • Yes, many of my classmates received a 5000 pounds scholarship, that’s deducted from the total fees.
  • Every 15 people of 20 students received the scholarship.
