Course Curriculum

8

  • The course curriculum is well-defined and understandable enough. It is a mixture of both theoretical and practical practices. The positive aspects are that it is very flexible and ensures and enables us to get deep knowledge. The negative aspect is that there are so many components that are not useful to me. Average of 3 classes per week with timings of 2 hours each.

Admission Experience

  • I have applied to 4 universities around the UK and I got my unconditional letter from the four universities that were: University of the Dundee, Queen’s Belfast University, University of Surrey, Coventry University. I haven’t received any rejection from any of the universities. I got an unconditional letter from all. But as per my requirements, I chose the University of Dundee.
  • I chose the University of Dundee, as this university offered me a great scholarship which really helped me in my finances and also offered me the course that I was looking for. I had very little time for my intake so I was not able to take any English proficiency test but the University of Dundee didn’t ask for it which was very helpful to me. I have applied for the September 2024 intake, as like forever I wanted to see the UK Christmas so this September intake is the perfect time to do that as I can see from the start to end. In total, almost 1.5 months took to complete my admission process as it had different things that needed to be completed and processed but it would have taken less time if I had been proactive.

Faculty

8

  • Giving average is quite difficult right now as many students from other courses attend classes together due to the same modules and components. Yes, there are Indian students . Faculty to student ratio now is almost 1:50. The teaching methodology is online with offline classes and gives practical as well as theoretical examples which help us in better understanding.

Campus Life

10

  • University of Dundee’s campus is wide with 2-3 campuses and different schools. There are many societies, halls, seminar halls, parks, hospitals, and accommodations. We have a beach and river bank near our campus and a museum. Across the campus, you can travel and explore different things by choosing public transportation or by foot.

Part Time Jobs

  • There are plenty of part-time jobs off campus where you can work for hours and get paid the opportunities that are available are in retail, cafes, food outlets, delivery partners, salons and so many others.
  • As an international student, you are allowed to work for 20 hours per week. But I am not sure about the on-campus part-time jobs yet so can’t give a clear response for that. On an average of 10 pounds a student can earn per hour, well the competition is high to secure a part-time in here as every 3rd student is international and wants to get a good and comfortable life in here so competition is high to get a well part-time job but if you are able to secure a part-time job here then that will be one of the best things here.

Placement

8

  • I am not sure about the full-time jobs here right now because I have just started my education. I have seen that Indeed and other job portals have many job opportunities available where a person can get paid really well and can earn well and live a very good life here. Most of the full-time jobs are in the medical field here so if anyone from a medical background wants to have a job can be a good choice.

Accommodation

Off Campus
10

  • My accommodation is off campus, it's a very good student accommodation named Lyon Street Terrace. The monthly rent is about 139 pounds and the facilities are well organized. Here is a large backyard where students can chill and have a get-together, also accommodation people organise small parties as well. I highly recommend this accommodation to future students Rooms are well and spacious.

Exams

  • As such no exams were required for admission but IELTS is one exam that is required in most of the abroad university.
  • Documents that are necessary to complete the admission process are: 10/12 mark sheets; Graduation semester-wise mark sheets; Graduation degree; Passport; Work experience; Resume; Offer letters from previous companies. I didn’t have to go through any interviews.

Fees

  • My university fee is 21500 GBP were as an Asian student, I got a scholarship of 6500 GBP which makes my fees around 17000 GBP. The fees are to be submitted by percentage wise at after completing a certain amount of steps and the University will let us know when and how much fees do we have to submit Which makes a very easy process to us in the process for submission.

Scholarship

  • As I am an Asian student so I got a scholarship of 6500 GBP. My batch mates might have gotten the scholarship, but I am not sure about it. I think most Asian students might have gotten the scholarship and every year almost 70-80% of students get the scholarship from the university the typical amount must be 4000 to 7000 GBP but I am not sure about it.
