Colleges Where I Was Accepted

Reason for choosing my college

  • I choose queen mary university of london because of its campus. Queen Mary University has the biggest campus in London. Its diversity and the modules which I wanted to learn about were all included in my course offered by Queen Mary, thats the reason I choose Queen Mary University of London over other universities.

Colleges Where I Was Rejected

Reason for Rejection

  • My academic profile didn't meet all the requirements of this university. The rejection came stating this reason only: the academic score of my junior college was less compare to the required score of the university

Required Exams for Admission

IELTS (7)

Required Documents For Admission

CV

SOP

LOR

Tips to enhance your application

  • SOP should be precise. A work LOR and LOR from HOD will be very helpful. If you have work experience, add some projects you have done into your SOP. Also mention extracurricular activities, if any.
  • Submit each and every document present in the application process without any fail.

Admission Experience

  • I choose the UK because of its diversity and the degrees provided by this country are recognised worldwide. The Queen Mary University has a very good global ranking and the location is in Central london. I dreamt of staying in Central london and one of the reasons for choosing this university is its location.
  • Queen Mary University also offers great career opportunities; they conduct job fairs and different seminars where they train us. Also help build the CV, prepare us for interviews, etc.
  • My overall experience with this university was great. My college life was too good because of the helpful faculties, friends and the whole vibe of the university. Different events, seminars, functions, etc helped bring me closer to different people from different cultures. One of the best experiences.

Class Schedule

10

  • There were usually 7-8 classes per week. The classes' timing was usually in afternoon but days when the classes' timing was in the morning also. Apart from studies, we used to spend around 2 hours per day on assignments and self-study in the library.
  • Also, we used to have weekly assessments; during that period, the self-study period was extra.

Faculty

10

  • The faculty member was the best part of the university. They were very helpful each and every time. They used to help in every assignment if asked any doubts. The responding time on email was also very quick. They also use to keep us updated about all the job fairs, seminars and workshops happening at the university and guide us through how to apply to different job portals.

Campus Life

10

  • Queen Mary has one of the biggest campuses in london. The campus was very beautiful and each university building has different sections. Our campus included 3-4 cafeterias. The library also had different sections and the staff was very smooth with all the functionality.
  • Campus also included a club-type area where all the fresher parties used to be conducted. Extracurricular activities like games, seminars, sports, etc., were conducted in a timely manner

Part Time Jobs

  • Average pay in the UK for a student doing part-time was between 11 pounds and 12.5 pounds per hour. Getting a part-time job was not that difficult, at least from my personal experience. I landed a job within a month of reaching London.
  • Part time jobs are usually easy to find with a good wage and its a good start for all the students
  • There were different on-campus jobs while the semesters were on, like they used to offer different part-time roles. The roles included barista and assistant as part of library staff.
  • Maximum hours allowed to work for a student during the semester were 20 hours and when we used to have a break at that time, the permitted hours were 40.

Placement

5

  • Getting a full-time job is a difficult thing to get in today's time. Talking about numbers, then, landing a full-time job within 6 months of completion of your degree, only 20-25% of students land a full-time job; I'm not exactly sure about the numbers. The average salary is expected around 35000 gbp.
  • Most all students apply on different job portals like linkedin, indeed, glassdoor etc. Lowest salary offered may be around 25000 gbp and the highest salary depends on the experience and skills set.

Accommodation

Off Campus
9

  • I used to stay off campus. I came to know about my accommodation through an online portal. My accommodation was in a central London zone. Challenges faced in my accommodation were sometimes the noise. But overall, the accommodation was a solid 4/5.
  • The staff was helpful; the study area, the lawn and the courtyard – everything was up to date. The laundry area was always clean. Even the common area and lobby used to be very happening.
