What Students Say
Likes
- The Faculty is super helpful and friendly. I have a LinkedIn post on the University of Surrey faculty. It would be good to check for aspiring MIM students. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/rainadas_hiya-everyone-im-an-international-student-activity-7215768856122851328-liFb?utm_source=combined_share_message&utm_medium=member_ios
- Ofc, love the campus. Very big and lovely campus within nature.
- Great location and perfect for international exposure. My MIM course had students from all over the world.
Dislikes
- Although I’m quite satisfied with the degree- however the MIM degree module can be basic for some people.
- The university could have helped more with finding placements. (However, this is something which is similar to other universities in the UK)
I chose it because of the great reputation of Surrey Business School. Location- near London! Practical modules like consulting and capstone. Overall experience is superb!
Course Curriculum
I have already mentioned precisely- amazing faculty. Modules like consulting have industrial exposure.
Faculty
First off, I’ve got the ???????????????????????????? program director, dissertation supervisor, and placement tutor—all in one person: Dr Will Lanham-New! I feel so lucky to have him guide me the whole time. All I can say is - he is the BEST! The other professors here? They’re amazing too. Trust me, doing master's assignments as an international student can be difficult. But here’s my tip: If you’re stuck or don’t get something, go to the professors. They’ll help you out. Quick story: I studied Physics, Chemistry, Math, and Biology in high school, then did a bachelor's in psychology. So, I had no clue about accounting and finance. The Money module was a struggle. But thanks to the OGs Rachel Sopp and Professor Osama Khan, I scored over 80 on my assignment! Their support made all the difference. All the credit to them! Read more on my linkedin post.
Campus Life
The University of Surrey has many options for clubs and extracurriculars! We had a huge sports park- gym, swimming, other sports- everything was there. The library is also amazing!
Placement
The university offers career counselling and cv review services. Uni has a separate job portal. How uni directly doesn’t help the students.
Accommodation
I have been in the shared accommodation- bandA. Cheapest one Check out more https://www.surrey.ac.uk/accommodation/our-accommodation
Exams
- Depends on what course you’re choosing. My bachelor's CGPA was 7.00 and my English score in 12th was 90. - WBCHSE - 85% (12th); WBBSE- 85% (10th) University of Calcutta- BSc Psychology 7.00 (UG) - Requirements: Yes, I had to submit SOP, LORs (Academic and professional) and my updated CV. For SOP, try to be very honest about why are you choosing the course and don’t use the SOP writing services. No interview.
