What's New in U of Salford?
25 June 2025: The University of Salford has revised the CAS document submission deadlines for both UG and PG international applicants. For PG programs, the new deadlines are 14 July 2025 for the September 2025 intake and 30 November 2025 for the January 2026 intake. For UG programs, the deadlines are 18 August 2025 for the September 2025 intake and 30 November 2025 for the January 2026 intake. Check programs.
University of Salford admissions follow CAS-based deadlines for international students, not fixed application deadlines. Applicants are advised to apply 5–6 months in advance to ensure timely CAS issuance, which takes 5 working days once all documents are submitted. For the January 2026 intake, both UG and PG programs have a 30 November 2025 CAS deadline. Applications open as early as one year before the intake. Note, the final CAS deadline for September 2025 intake has already passed. University of Salford acceptance rate is around 48%, portraying a moderately selective admission process.

Overview
The admission process was relatively straightforward as I had already completed my undergrad at the same University and applied through the University. I chose Salford because it's in Manchester, and for arts and media students the second campus is located at the heart of MediaCity UK, right next to the BBC. ITV Studios, the Lowry theatre, and the Imperial War Museum are also housed in the same area, with Manchester United's home stadium, Old Trafford, just across the Quays. I would recommend Manchester to arts and media students because of its rich history in the field. The University of Salford has an excellent sprawling main campus as well, which has introduced two new states of the art buildings. Like for any University, there are certain courses and certain departments that might not be up to the required standards. So research the right course before applying. Personally, I enjoyed my time there, and I would recommend it, especially for arts and media students.
