New Delhi: University of Sheffield, UK has announced 125 International Postgraduate Taught Merit scholarships in 2024. Interested candidates can apply for these scholarships at the official website — sheffield.ac.uk.
The students awarded the scholarships will get £5,000 towards the original tuition fee for a postgraduate taught programme, starting in September 2024. International students admitted to PG programs at University of Sheffield are eligible for applying for the scholarships.
The application process for the scholarships will begin late autumn and students will be able to apply till May 13, 2024. The names of the selected candidates will be released on June 10, 2024.
University of Sheffield PG Merit Scholarships: Eligibility Criteria
Here is the detailed eligibility criteria which students need to fullfill to apply for the PG Merit Scholarships:
- Candidate’s programme must commence at the University of Sheffield in autumn 2024. Also, candidates should have received an offer for a course studied in full at the University of Sheffield. Masters programmes split between the University of Sheffield and a partner institution are not eligible to apply for a scholarship.
- All Crossways courses and Erasmus Mundus courses are ineligible for a merit scholarship.
- Distance learning courses are ineligible for a merit scholarship.
- For tuition fee purposes, candidates should be self-funded and required to pay the overseas tuition fee.
- Candidates should not be sponsored students.
University of Sheffield PG Merit Scholarships: Selection Process
A panel of senior members of staff will select the strongest applications and will be looking for the following:
- Applicant has given examples of achievements which represent excellence and initiative in educational, voluntary, or professional areas.
- Candidate has shown how these achievements relate to the course they have applied for at the University of Sheffield and connected that to their future ambitions.
- Applicant has a strong academic profile.
