Course Curriculum Overview

4

let me talk about specific aspects of the curriculum that made me choose this course. Honestly, when I was looking at colleges, I noticed that this one doesn’t just teach theory for the sake of it. For example, in our first semester itself, alongside the usual "Programming for Problem Solving" paper, they had a parallel lab called "Innovative Coding Lab" where we had to build a small working project like a calculator or a quiz game by the end of 8 weeks. That caught my attention. Most colleges just give you textbook C++ problems; here, they show you the output and say, "Make something that works." That influenced my decision a lot. Now, how well does the curriculum prepare you for real-world applications or further academic pursuits? I’d say about 75-80% there. For real-world applications, the practical labs are genuinely helpful. We have team-based assessment tasks where 4-5 students get a problem statement (like creating a student database or a simple login system) and you have to divide work, use Git for version control, and present it. That’s exactly how the industry works. For further academic pursuits like master’s or research, the curriculum has decent math and core theory foundations. But I feel they could add more research-oriented assignments like literature reviews or mini-surveys. Right now it’s very implementation-heavy, which is good for jobs but less for PhD prep. Suggestions for improvement in curriculum and teaching methods – I have a few. First, some teachers still rely on 100-slide PPTs read line by line. That’s boring. Arvind Sir already does live coding, but others should follow. Second, there should be more projects. For example, combine a programming assignment with some basic electronics or data visualization. Third, bring in more alumni sessions where they show how they used a particular subject in their actual job. That would motivate us. Fourth, reduce the number of theory-heavy subjects per semester.

Placement Experience

Well I can't say that their are no placement in our college, Placements occur recently few students got selected for placement in college by Mahindra & Mahindra (I think so it was that ) and other companies keep on visiting recently a mountain dew campaign was going on in college. The placement completly dependent on students as their knowledge tested in placement. My plans after degree are something hidden ans a little curious I do like to keep it secret because soon it will be revealed automatically.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees (Tuition fees) is 68000 that I have through counselling done NTA (CUET PG) .The 10000 rs initial amount deposited to start collecting and 20000 rs for seat counselling college seat .And a separate amount for examination fees that's 7500 inr . Their are no charges for Lab and Library in 1st semester. But from second semester onwards the charges where applied .But instead of the fee structure the college staff take care of students, their attendance, examination, teachers are good and supporting also the lab we can use at any time also the separate time fixed for lab ,Also a well structure schedule and no pressure of anything . A separate fees amount for dress of INR 5000. BUT the scholarship is guaranteed for obc if you have good scores in 12th and attendance records are good at 2st semester ,the scholarship that received is about 20000 or so .

Campus Life

Well college is organising major festivals fest like they organized dandiya fest , Eid , whatever they call these fest i don't remember so well but now they are organising night tournament cricket. But I think so these events were offered by seniors to faculties so they decided of conducting these things considering the hopes and engagement of students in everything.

Admission

I have selected some other colleges as well got qualification and eligible for 50 percent scholarship at LPU as well but that's so much far and a completly different state ,so family havng allowed fir that then i checked some college in Lucknow as well like BBDU and Ramswaroop university as well but at their fees structure does not qualify me .So ya maybe I am running into bad luck or whatever but at finally i have taken admission through counselling in my college and started coming to college when it started. admission was easy no problem occured during admission they offer online paying methods as well

Faculty

I’m just finishing my first year, so I’m not an expert yet, but I’ve seen enough to give you a real picture. Not the fancy brochure version, but the actual student version. Let me start with the faculty-to-student ratio because this is something everyone asks. Honestly, I don’t have an exact fixed number because the college keeps upgrading and hiring new professors. From what I’ve observed and heard from seniors, it’s roughly around 4:1 or maybe slightly different per department. That might sound surprisingly high for some people, but keep in mind that includes all the lab assistants, project guides, and even the HOD taking smaller batches. The important part is that you’re never just a roll number here. You actually get noticed. Now, coming to the faculty relationship and approachability—this is where I genuinely feel lucky. The professors are not only knowledgeable but also surprisingly friendly. Like, we can literally walk up to our Head of Department and say, “Sir, the lab network is down again” or “Ma’am, can we change the classroom because the AC isn’t working?” and they actually listen. They don’t brush you off. I remember once, a batchmate had a family emergency and missed a sessional exam. The faculty coordinated with the HOD and arranged a makeup test within a week. That kind of support is rare. They understand that we are humans with real-life problems, not just assignment-submitting machines. If you’re genuine and respectful, they’ll go out of their way to help you. Which faculties did I like and why? I have two favorites so far. First is Professor Arvind Sir (taking Data Structures). The reason I like him is because he doesn’t just read from slides. He codes live in class, makes mistakes on purpose, and then shows us how to debug. That’s where the real learning happens. He also stays back after class for anyone who didn’t understand a concept. Second is Professor Neha Ma’am (Communicative English). She made us do extempore speeches, group discussions

Night Life

Maybbe their is a gym in college hostel but that's for hosteller not regular students , in night the college is silent , libraries, labs and everything where closed , the college is surrounded but still in hostel staff members keep an eye on activities and cameras where installed in the hostel as well . Meals where given to students at proper time

Other Applied Colleges

Babu Banarasi Das University - [BBDU] | Master of Computer Applications [M.C.A]

Because if the high few structure and some unavoidable rumours spreading about college students of BBDU. I know the facilities they are providing is wonderful but because of financial issues and other things i couldn't avail the college.

Placement Experience:

To be honest, placements here are pretty decent, but they really depend on how much effort you put into your own projects, internship and how well you've enhanced your skills. You can start appearing for campus drives from the 3rd semester, so you don't get much of a break. The company list is a mix we get some big tech firms and a bunch of startups too.

I did not take any entrance exams as I was eligible for enrollment directly based on my academic marks in graduation and Xth and XIIth. I also got a discount of fee based on the same. I opted for Amity distance learning because it is the best option for distance learning. They provide a lot of resources both online and offline to succeed in the course.
