Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum of my B.Pharm is good and covers most of the important subjects related to pharmacy. It includes both theory and practical subjects like pharmaceutics, pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, and pharmacognosy, which helped me understand the basics of the field. This balanced structure was one of the reasons I chose this course. The curriculum is helpful for building a foundation for jobs in pharma companies, hospitals, or higher studies like M.Pharm. However, it is more theory-based, and practical exposure to real industry work is limited. More industrial visits, internships, and skill-based training would make it more useful for real-world applications. The exam pattern includes two sessional exams and one final semester exam. Exams are conducted regularly and are of moderate difficulty. Students who study consistently can perform well without much difficulty. Overall, the course is relevant and comprehensive, but it needs improvement in practical learning and industry exposure to make students more job-ready.

Internships Opportunities

3

The internship opportunities in my college is average. College do not provide many direct internship, most of the time students have to find internship by their own. Some students get chance in small pharma companies, medical stores or hospitals for training. Roles offered during internship are mainly related to production, quality control, dispensing in medical shop or hospital training. Stipend is usually very low or sometimes not given, mostly internships are for learning purpose only. In my case, I did training in hospital where I learned about basic medicines, patient handling and prescription understanding. Some students also do projects like formulation of creams, tablets or herbal products which help in practical knowledge. Overall internship experience is helpful for learning but college should provide more proper opportunities and tie-ups with companies so students can get better exposure.

Placement Experience

3

The placements of my college is average, not very high but also not too bad. Students become eligible for campus placement from 7th semester. Some companies visit the college but not many big companies comes regularly. Companies like small pharma companies and local companies visit and offer roles like production, quality control and sales. The highest package is around 3–4 LPA and average package is about 2–2.5 LPA. Number of offers is also limited and not all students get placed. Around 30-40% students get placement from campus, rest students have to search job on their own or go for higher studies. College gives some support but not very strong placement help. Because of this, many students including me are planning for higher studies or preparing for competitive exams to get better opportunities. Overall placement is okay but need improvement.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of my B.Pharm course is quite reasonable compared to other colleges. On average, the yearly fees are around ?80,000–?1,00,000, including tuition fees, lab charges, and other academic expenses. In the first year, I also paid admission fees, registration fees, and a refundable caution fee, which made it slightly higher than other years. From second year onwards, the fees remain almost the same with a slight increase of ?2,000–?5,000 per year. The total cost of the complete course is approximately ?3.5–?4 lakh. Stdents from categories like SC/ST and OBC can avail government scholarships such as UP Scholarship, which provides significant financial support and sometimes covers a large portion of the fees. Some merit-based scholarships are also available for good academic performance. For students in the management quota, fees are generally higher compared to government quota students. Overall, the course is affordable for middle-class students, especially with scholarship support.

Campus Life

3

My overall campus life experience is average but enjoyable with friends. College do not have very big fest but some cultural and technical events are organised time to time, mostly in months like February or March. These events are not very grand but students enjoy and participate. The library is decent and have enough books related to pharmacy subjects. Some journals are also available but not too many latest ones. It is useful for exam time and basic study. Classrooms are normal with basic facilities like fans, lights and sometimes projector, but not all classes have smart boards. Infrastructure is okay but can be improved more. Sports and extracurricular activities are limited. There is ground for some games but not much focus is given on sports. Few activities are organised but not regularly. There are no major clubs or student groups, but students make their own groups and enjoy college life. Overall campus life is simple, not very exciting but manageable.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel facility of my college is average, not very good but manageable. Rooms are simple with basic things like bed, fan, table and chair. In some rooms space is little less if more students are staying together. Cleanliness is okay but sometimes need improvement. The mess food is average. Some days food is good but sometimes quality is not that good. Menu is fixed and repeated mostly, so students get bored. But it is affordable so students manage with it. The hostel registration process is simple, you just have to apply and pay fees. Hostel fees is reasonable compared to private PGs. Some students also prefer to stay in rented rooms or PG near college which gives more freedom. If you take PG or room outside, there are many options near college with normal rent. Locality is decent and safe for students. Overall hostel is okay for living but not very comfortable, improvement is needed in food quality and maintenance.

Admission

I choose this college mainly because it give a good balance between fees and education. Compared to other colleges I applied, the fees here was more affordable which is important for me as I belong to middle class family. Some other colleges have better infrastructure and placements but their fees was very high so it was not suitable for me. I also applied to few other AKTU colleges but I selected this one because it is near to my home and faculty is also decent. I didn’t get admission in some top colleges because of high cutoff and competition was also more. The admission process of my college was simple and smooth. Admission is based on 12th marks (PCB/PCM) and also through AKTU counselling. Some students also take direct admission through management quota. Overall, my admission experience was good and not much complicated. College may not be top level but it provide decent education in affordable fees, so for me it was a practical choice.

Faculty

4

The faculty members in my college are good and helpful. Most teachers have strong knowledge of their subjects and try to explain topics in a simple way so students can understand easily. The teacher-student ratio is fine, so we can ask doubts without any problem. Teachers are friendly and approachable, especially during exams and practical classes. Some teachers are very supportive and also guide us about career options and higher studies. However, a few teachers still use old teaching methods and focus more on theory instead of practical learning, which can be improved. The course structure follows the AKTU syllabus, which includes both theory and practical subjects. It helps in building basic knowledge of pharmacy, but more practical exposure and industry training would make it better. The exam system includes two internal exams (sessionals) and one final semester exam. Marks are divided into internal marks (attendance, sessionals, assignments) and external marks from the university exam. The exams are of moderate level. If you study regularly, it is easy to pass. Overall, the system is good but needs more focus on practical skills.

Night Life

2

The nightlife around my college is not very active but it is okay for students. After classes, most students spend time in nearby tea stalls, small cafes or just sit with friends and relax. There are no big clubs or late night places near the campus. The college campus and library usually close by evening, around 5–6 PM, so there is not much activity inside campus at night. Hostel timing is also fixed, and students are expected to return by evening or night as per rules. There are some local food stalls and small restaurants outside the college where students go in evening time. These places are affordable and good for hanging out with friends. The area around the college is mostly safe but not very lively at night. Students usually avoid going out very late at night. Overall, nightlife is simple and limited, more focused on small hangouts rather than big activities.

Placement Experience:

Placements in my college are average, not very high but some companies do visit every year. Students become eligible for placements from final year, mostly from 7th or 8th semester. Companies are not very big mostly local or mid level pharma companies come. Some roles offered are like production, quality control and marketing. Highest package is not very high, around 3-4 LPA and average package is around 2-2.5 LPA. Percentage of students getting placement is not very high, maybe around 40-50% approx. Many students prefer to go for higher studies or try off campus jobs. My plan after completing degree is to look for job in pharma field or maybe go for higher studies depending on opportunity. Overall placement is okay but needs improvement.
