Course Curriculum Overview
i would say that te curriculum of the course is relatively relevant and compenhensive. the course include all the major subjects that are necessary for a good founation and designed in a way that is in line with the latest university and industry requirements. the course is well balanced between te concepts and applications of te subject, which helps in understandinf te practical application of te concept. although te course is ipdated from time to time and includes latest topics, students whi want to acuire skills may have to do some self learning or internsips.
Internships Opportunities
The college also offers great internship opportunities, with about 50-60% of students getting internships by the time they are in their 3rd or 4th year. Internships are offered in fields such as software development, web/app development, data analysis, networking, cybersecurity and IT support, which are in line with the course structure. Students can apply for internships through the college’s training and placement cell, national schemes such as AICTE and Cisco internships, or individually through online portals. The college also assists students in this process through workshops, resume preparation, and mock interviews.
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual tuition fees of the college are around ?70,000 to ?75,000 per annum, based on the branch of study. The total cost of the entire 4-year course would be around ?2.8 to ?3.0 lakhs, not including the cost of staying in the hostel and other personal expenses. The tuition fees have experienced a slight rise over the years, which is attributed to changes in the curriculum and development works, but it is still quite nominal compared to other similar private engineering colleges. The college also provides scholarships to the students based on government schemes, especially for SC/ST/OBC and economically weaker section students.
Campus Life
My experience with campus life has been moderately positive and well-balanced. The social life is quite cordial, and students from different backgrounds mix well, making it a pleasant and welcoming place to be. The college has technical, cultural, and sports clubs, and students can engage in activities such as seminars, workshops, cultural events, and annual festivals, which are quite good for exposure outside academics. Although activities related to clubs are available, they are not very regular, so students wanting more can always take the initiative themselves. Regarding infrastructure, the campus is quite clean and well-maintained, with clean and tidy classrooms, functional labs, Wi-Fi connectivity, library facilities, sports facilities, and a clean canteen. Campus life is quite decent and supportive, although students wanting a very vibrant and active campus life might find it a bit restrictive.
Admission
I selected this college because it was a well-rounded option in terms of education, placements, infrastructure, and cost-effectiveness compared to other colleges I applied to. Other colleges I applied to had better brand recognition or slightly better placement statistics, but their tuition fees were substantially higher and their infrastructure was not much different. My college, on the other hand, offered decent placement options, a supportive faculty, and a well-organized curriculum for a relatively lower fee. I couldn’t get admission into a few other colleges that were relatively better mainly because of higher cutoffs and stiffer competition in entrance exams, in which I ranked just below the cut-off list. The admission procedure in my college was very transparent and clear, which involved counseling on the basis of entrance exam performance and eligibility criteria, followed by verification of documents and payment of fees.
Faculty
The lecturers in the college are well-qualified and supportive, with many of them possessing postgraduate or doctoral qualifications. They are able to explain concepts clearly and are available for doubt-solving and academic guidance. The course structure is well-organized and is in sync with the university syllabus, incorporating both theoretical knowledge and practical knowledge acquisition in labs, assignments, projects, and seminars, thus enabling students to develop a strong foundation in core subjects. The examination pattern is in a semester pattern, including internal assessments in the form of class tests, quizzes, assignments, lab tests, and attendance, along with end-semester university exams. The weightage pattern is well-balanced, giving equal importance to internal assessments and final exams, and is designed to test conceptual knowledge as well as application-based knowledge.
Night Life
The nightlife in and around the college area is quite limited. Since the college is situated in a relatively peaceful area, there are no major nightlife spots, clubs, or late-night hangout points around. Students usually spend their evenings in hostels, common areas, or food stalls, socializing with friends. Sometimes, students head out to the city area for cafes or restaurants, but that is not very common. Tere has recently a shopping complex built nearby which is vmart. The nightlife is quite peaceful and safe, with no major partying going on, which is suitable for students who like to have a peaceful environment around them.
