MBM University, Jodhpur (Production and Industrial Engineering)

In this course, students learn to make maximum use of resources with minimum investment, which helps them in their startup plans and connects them with the current market through the knowledge of adaptation. Regular tests, weekly assessment of practical concepts, class discussions and group discussions are also conducted by the teachers.

Many companies provide internship opportunities like: vedanta, borosil, HCL, Tata,etc. Indian railways also provides internship to the students. Stipend is only given to the students those are recruited by the company.

From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Name of companies visited- Adani group L&T Vedanta NBC Infosys Denso Core companies usually offer roles like Production Engineer Quality Engineer Operations / Maintenance Highest package is provided by Vedanta around 10LPA. Average package is around 6-7LPA. Currently approx 50-55% of students are getting placements.

For female/SC/ST Candidates and GAS SEATS - Fees per year - Rs.15630 for continuity form Exam form fee per semester - Rs. 780 Caution money - Rs. 7815 (For first semester only) Hostel form fee- Rs. 100 Hostel admission fee- Rs. 10000 per year (approx) Mess charges- Rs.120 per day (including breakfast, lunch, dinner) For SFS seats- Semester fee is approx Rs.30000-40000 And other charges are same as mentioned above There are no other charges like lab fee, development fee, etc.

Spandan is the annual cultural festival which is usually held in February or March.It includes events like: Dance and music performances, Singing competitions, Drama and stage plays, Fashion show, etc. Encarta is the technical festival which includes technical events such as coding competitions, workshops, project exhibitions, quizzes, and innovation challenges. It focuses on improving technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and teamwork among engineering students. Library has a good range of books. It includes textbooks, reference books, competitive exam guides, and general reading materials. Books related to the course are available in sufficient quantity. The campus offers a variety of sports and extracurricular activities. Facilities are available for outdoor sports such as cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, and athleticsand Indoor games like badminton, table tennis, chess, and carrom. The college organizes inter-departmental and inter-college sports competitions. The campus has many student-run clubs. Technical clubs organize coding events, workshops, seminars, and project activities. Cultural clubs focus on music, dance, drama, and literary events.

Students are provided with a personal almira, bed, table and chair. Fan and light is provided in the room. Separate hostels are available for girls according to the semester. There are 2 seater and 3 seater rooms are available for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year girls and single seater rooms are alloted to the final year girls. The hostel campus is cleaned regularly. Mess food is average. In breakfast, they provide tea or milk, and one food item(poha, pratha, noodles, sandwich). In lunch, daal, chawal, chapati and sabji is provided. In evening, tea is provided and in diner, daal, chawal, chapati and sabji is provided. Special meal is given on Sunday ( pav bhaji, idli sambhar, chhole bhature, etc.) Rented room and PG are also available near the campus. For average room, they charge around 3000 per month and for a two seater pg room around 6000-7000 per month.

I applied to Government Engineering College, Ajmer and got admission in Mechanical Engineering. But I decided to take admission in MBM University because it is the oldest engineering college in Rajasthan and has experienced teachers, proper facilities and better placement opportunities. MBM University, Jodhpur admits students to various programmes based on entrance exams and counselling, not through its own test. There is NO management quota; all seats are filled via merit based on competitive exams. Eligibility - You must have passed 10+2 (PCM) with minimum 45% aggregate (40% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD). Apply through REAP counselling after JEE Main results to secure seats at MBM.

Faculty-to-student ratio is 1:5 Faculty of production and industrial engineering department is very supportive towards their students. They are always available for helping students and also encourage them for their personality development. My favourite favourite teachers are Professor Vikas Kapoor Assistant Professor Naveen Kumar Suniya , who are always available to guide and help students. There is a major semester exam consists of theoretical papers and practical examinations. Internals marks of practical examinations are based on your performance while performing the experiments and understanding of concepts. In 2023, one student among 30 students is failed. This course includes in-depth knowledge of production and quality management, but the main problem is that many companies prefer mechanical engineering over production and industrial engineering.

The campus is located in a residential area, just 3 kilometers from the railway station. Stationery shops, restaurants, gardens and tea stalls are located just outside the campus. The famous Ganesh Temple of Jodhpur is 1 kilometer away from the campus. Hostel timings for girls are different according to the their semester. For 1st year girls Hostel entry time - around 5pm Attandance time- around 9pm Gate opening time- around 6am For 2nd, 3rd and final year girls Hostel entry time is around 7:30pm. Favorite hangout place of students is Samarth tea point. The campus is located in a residential area and near to the senapati bhawan, so it totally safe to roam around at night.
