Course Curriculum Overview
I have always been interested in computers with getting decent marks in 12th class as well, I decided to stretch this further with opting BCA course. At KRMU, we learn and work on various datasets and real life problems that help to make us ready for the interviews and jobs as well. As far as for improvement, the university should have a platform where every subjects notes and study material can be made available for the students. The exams are not difficult and can be scored good marks with regular studies at class alone.
Internships Opportunities
The Samatrix and IBM are the top recruiters at the university with roles of data analyst and data engineer being on the top. The projects that we do is based on data processing and cleaning that help to scrap us trends and patterns from it. Also anomaly detection role is also famous here with rectify errors in the code.
Placement Experience
The final year students at KRMU are eligible for placements and few companies keep visiting each month at the name of placement drives. But the vacancies they have is limited like with the strength of 50 students they would hire only 3 or 4 students after successful evaluation. The top recruiters are IBM and Samatrix. The highest package for BCA is 6.5 LPA, average package is 3.5 LPA and lowest is 2.5 LPA. Overall few students get campus placement here, but companies do visit here. I would look for campus placement after degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual fees at KRMU for BCA is INR 160,000 that is INR 80,000 for each semester. At the time of admission we have to pay semester fees + security fund of INR 10,000 (refundable at the time of passing out) + alumni fees of INR 2000 also. There is no category specific rebate on fees but scholarship is available for army personnel wards of 15% on first year. Scholarship of 100% is available for students with above 90% marks in class 12th. Scholarship for students with marks above 80% is also available but the criteria is different. 100% scholarship is applicable for 1st year only and we have to pay the fees first and at the end of semester the amount is refunded completely to us.
Campus Life
One of the many commendable aspects of KRMU is it's campus life with frequent cultural ( dramatics singing and dancing) events taking place, it is most of the times lively especially at the C block. The library is well stacked with all variety of book available and the process to borrow is also easy. The sports facilities are limited like we have football ground, tennis and basketball court as well but the overall engagement is limited. The computer labs are also well furnished and high tech.
Admission
I only applied at KRMU with BCA (AI & DS) itself and got the admission after verification of my class 12th marks. I had heard a lot of appreciation from my fellow friends about the university and I got admission here. I did try to apply at DU but did not proceed as BCA course was not available there. The admissions at KRMU are based on merit of class 12th only and admissions are continued till seats are filled.
Faculty
The faculties at KRMU are nice and educated as well. Majority of the teachers are doctorate and PhD degree holders. The teachers are cooperative and help students even after the lectures. There are many teachers like Sneh ma'am, Sahil sir, Seema ma'am etc. that are excellent with studies and class is always lively with them. There are two exams one is mid term (20 marks) and end semester exam (50 marks). The exams are easy to moderate level and can secured with good marks. The curriculum is good and has a lot of practical knowledge involved with lab activities. Overall we can become industry ready with these studies.
Night Life
There are 2 cafeteria in the university one at the C block and other one at A block. We also have food outlets of Nescafe and Basil. The gym is available but is only accessible for hostelers. The hostel is spacious with separate sports facilities for the hostelers as well. AC rooms and WiFi is also available. The closest mall is Airia Mall and every famous cafe and restaurant is there only. The only near by cafe is Nectar at Central flower valley. We can come inside campus after 8.40 AM and leave by 4.00 PM
