What Students Say
Likes
- Professors take intrest in teaching and they are interactive.
- The location is great as it is located near various IT companies, so yes it plays a role for internship and placements.
- They have their placement drive run through the main campus on Noida which is more effective.
Dislikes
- They have clubs, but the convey of message of any event is very unorganised, like you come to know it a day before sometimes.
- Extracurricular activities like debates etc. to improve communication skills and all is almost none.
- The campus off days does not provide a fun time, like there's not much to do about during holiday.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is based on the ongoing courses for a computer science degree, like C,C++,Oops,DSA etc. Exam is held once at the end of semester,so there are no worries during the ongoing semester, the exam is of moderate level heavily influenced by previous year questions. Teachers teaches you ppt and board, but try to make the topics understanding easy. There are related books of curriculum in the library so you can issue them.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like tcs, accenture have visited the campus earlier, but it would be difficult for me to comment on that as I am unaware of it in detail. But the location of the college plays a better role for people to search and find for internship and placements, apart from those provided by the college.
Placement Experience
The students are eligible for internship from 3rd sem and for placement too. But like the companies that come have a criteria which is different for every company. The highest package is claimed to be around 30 lpa but average is around 4-6 lpa. Percentage of students getting placement is unclear to me,but it is that the students also sit for placement from the Noida campus of the University. I myself is looking to pursue Masters after graduation.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees is divided into semester wise fees which increases by 5k every year or you may say every odd semester, Like 1,3,5,7. The fees per semester starts from 1,08,000 when I took admission. They provide scholarship based on result of class 12, which is like 25% if more than 75%, 50% if more than 85%,and 100% on more than 93%. The scholarship is on semester wise fees. There is no clear break down of the fee as far as I know. UP government also provide scholarship to the students of UP those who are not great financially, also study loan is available .Not much information on the interest rates.
Campus Life
The campus life is not much on the engaging side but yes they do have fests and events around the year. They do have a large amount of books and journals on availability from your phone and library. The classrooms are equipped with projector and have Air-Conditioners in the classroom, so yeah it is good. Also computer labs and other labs are well equipped with the essential and required technology. The sports and extracurricular activities are limited, they have badminton courts, basketball courts, volleyball net,and two main ground for sports and also organise an inter streams sports week. There are various students run social groups and clubs for coding, photography, music, dance etc.
Hostel Facilities
Triple sharing rooms with and without AC are available, 12 rooms per floor, provides study table, almirah and all the basic things. laundry is available and gives clothes after 3 days, house cleaning service have been stopped for inside the room,no cleaning in the room until further notice which is not good at all, multiple complaints have been done to the concerned authorities but still it's been over a month now no improvement at all. Food is provided by third party caterers, which have various food options available, quality is a personal taste that may vary. Registration process for hostle is easy, but affordability may be a concern as fees has been increased but service have been downgraded this year.
Admission
I applied to various colleges like KIIT Bhubaneswar, GNIOT, G.L. Bajaj etc. but chose this over them due as I mistakenly chose for electronics in KIIT, and was late for admission in the others. Also it have a less fees as compared to its other campus. The admission process here is very easy, just register, then you'll have to give an online exam, after that an interview and it's all set. There is no criteria for minimum percentage in 12 or so. The admission process is very easy and almost very quick.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is of 1:50,but the faculty is good and approachable, they put efforts to teach if students show willingness to be taught. There are various facilities that you would appreciate for their knowledge and nature. The exam pattern is that you would have Class test, assignments, projects, behaviour that would contribute to your internals, and an end semester exam of around 60-70 marks. There are few additional courses added like technical communication, foreign business language etc.
Night Life
There is a Gym, swimming services offered on additional basis. They have few food outlets in cafeteria, library is accessible during the college hours, and hostle timing for girls are from 5am to 9 pm whereas for boys it's 10 pm. Campus timing is different it's 8 pm in the evening .
