Course Curriculum Overview
I would rate the course curriculum as highly relevant and well-structured. It covers core subjects and includes practical labs that help in real-world applications. I chose this course because of its focus on programming, data structures, and project work. Exams are held twice a semester and are of moderate difficulty. However, some subjects need updated content and more hands-on teaching methods.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements from the 7th semester. Companies visit the campus. The highest package offered was around 10 LPA. while the average is 3.5 to 4 LPA. Most students get roles like software developer, management trainee. about 70 to 75% of eligible students get placed every year. After completing my degree, I plan to join a company for work experience and also prepare for government job exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fees of BCA in Vikram University, Ujjain is around Rs. 5000/- INR. it includes tuition fees, computer lab fees and internal exam fees. at the time of admission once in a year admission fees around Rs. 2500/- INR is also taken by university. for reserve categories students like SC and ST the fees may be lower as compare to OBC and GENERAL candidates. it depends on government schemes, management quota. Merit cum means and state scholarships are available and some students also get full tuition fees waivers based on academic performance.
Campus Life
Campus life is enjoyable and balanced, Our annual fest is usually held in February. and the cultural fest takes place in November. the library has a good collection of books and journals, including access t digital materials. classrooms have projectors, wifi which helps in learning. There are sports facilities for cricket, volleyball, and indoor games. Students can join clubs like coding club, cultural club, and photography club. These clubs help in improving skills and making new friends. Overall, The campus is active and offers a good mix of academics and fun.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel rooms are clean and come with basic facilities like a bed, table, chair, fan and cupboard. some rooms have attached bathrooms. the mess provides meals 3 times a day, and while the food is average, the menu includes both north and south indian dishes. The hostel registration process is simple and done at the time of admission. the yearly fee is affordable, around Rs. 8000/- INR. if you don't get a hostel seat, nearby PG's and rented rooms available in nanakheda area.which is close to the university and safe and students friendly.
Admission
I applied to a few other colleges, but I got confirmed admission here due to a better location in ujjain, affordable fees and good placement support. I couldn't get admission into a top tier collage because my entrance exam score was slightly below the cutoff. My collage accepts admission based on entrance exams like JEE mains and state level exam. The cutoff marksvaries every year, but generally, students with a decent rank get selected. The admission process was simple, you have to just fill the application form, submit documents and attend the counselling session. the staff was helpful, and process was completed smoothly.
Faculty
The faculty and student ration is good, and most teachers are helpful and approachable. They are available after class for doubts. I Liked Prof. Nitin Sharma Sir for his clear explanations in Computer Science Subjest. our facultyuses practical methods and focuses on concept clarity. The course is well structured with both theory and lap papers. Each semester has two internal exams and one final exam. Exams are moderate in difficulty. only a few students fail, mostly due to attendance or low preparation. The syllabus is relevant to industry needs, especially in core technical subjects.
Night Life
Nightlife around the collage is peacefull and safe. Most students relax in the hostel or hang out in the cafeteria before it closes around 9:00 PM. The library usually shuts by 7:00 PM. and public areas like parks or lounges inside the campus are open till 8:00 PM. Hostel in-time is 9:30 PM for all students. Popular hangout spots near campus include local cafe's, tea stalls, and tarantall food zone. students also visit nearby vigyan taramadal and kothi mahal, and Mahakal Temple and its mahakal corridor on weekends. The are is quite safe and students feel comfortable going out in small groups. these moments help us unwind and enjoy collage life more.
