- Everyone in this college knows one another and has social interactions on a day to day basis.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of most subjects are very relevant and comprehensive. They focus on what is apt for the current world scenario and requirements. The use of case studies and tests on the basis of practical knowledge can be encouraged further to prepare students for the real world.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like Outlook, KPMG, and PinClick offered internship oppurtunities in the college. Roles like Public Relations Executive, Senior Traveller Coordinator among others were offered to students who worked in companies.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements after the fifth semester. Companies like Outlook and KPMG have made offers. The average package is approximately 5 lakh per annum. My plans after getting the degree are to work.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee that we pay annually comes up to 3 lakh 60 thousand. Merit based scholarships are being offered to students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance in their batches. It aims to support students who excel academically throughout the course of their study.
Campus Life
The annual fest Sygnite is hosted in the month of either February or March. It includes the involvement of various clubs and committees that work together for different events during the fest. Clubs and committees host other intra and inter collegiate events throughout the year. Sports like football, basketball, volleyball, and badminton among others are played on campus and extracurricular activities like singing, dancing etc are conducted regularly.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is located around 800 meters away from the college. The room consists of four beds along with study tables and shelves next to each of the beds. Every room has a balcony. Each person is given a wardrobe of their own.
Admission
I chose this college over others as it offers a four year BBA degree with honours and research unlike most other colleges which offer only a three year degree. Students have to attempt the SET exam after which they will receive a call for a personal interview and a written test.
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio is approximately 1:45. The faculty members are extremely patient and make it a point to clear any doubt a student has while also guiding them. They are approachable and are always willing to help students. Dr. Anandita Ghosh and Dr. Jikku Kurian are two faculties I really liked due to their pedagogical methods. There are two exams - a mid-term exam and a final exam, and both are generally easy.
Interview Experience
Yes, all students had to attempt a written test as well as a personal interview to get selected. The SET is the entrance test while the WAT is the written ability test which focused on interpreting a picture and writing about it. The interview focused on current affairs topics, previous achievements, and details about why a student would like to join the college.
Night Life
The curfew on weekdays is 10:30 pm and weekends is 11 pm. The gates open at 6 am. The gym opens in the evening at 4 pm and closes at 9 pm. The cafetarias stay open till 9 pm. The amphitheatre is a common hangout spot in college.
