Course Curriculum Overview

5

I am currently studying in 4th sem and from my experience so far I want to share my thoughts - The curriculum is welll structured and covers essential civil engineering topics such as structural analysis-1 , hydraulics . My main reason for opting this course is that it provides balance between theoretical concepts and practical applications. My college also conduct field visits for us so that we can have a real life experience and exposure to the industry and it helps us to enhance our practical knowledge. Areas of improvement- It should have an updated course content like sustainable construction, smart cities and adavance construction materials .

Internships Opportunities

5

Internships are highly focused on starting from the third year. There is a dedicated training and placement office bracket TPO that constantly looks for mass internship opportunities among the companies. Admission

I had applied to BIT Durg and my admission also got confirmed but I opted for this college ( shri Shankaracharya institute of professional management and technology) and I don't regret a sweat . It has been a greatest decision I have taken . As I visited this college I found out about the opportunities this college provides to the students even to freshers . Unlike other college this college provides facilities like idea lab which is affiliated with AICTE , international clubs like toastmasters, for social club National student service and for students who have an occult interest in defense college also provide facility like NCC which is avilable for both boys and girls including domains like army and navy . The curriculum also includes perfectly balance of theory learning, practical application, cultural events and sports too . This college has an excellent bus facilities for student to get the shortest route to their home .

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is 10:1 ensuring personalised attention and better interaction . Remedial classes are also provided for weaker student , which is helpful in improving their academic performance. The exam system includes: 2 class test of 40 marks which helps us to stay engaged with course 1 end sem exam of 100 marks theory We also have practical exam of 30marks 20 marks are being rewarded for assignment and teacher's assessment. The exams are moderately challenging . The faculty is like the most is from my branch is Mr.Pankaj Chand Sir , he is also my class incharge and I really appreciate his perspective on learning he is very interactive and focus on practical learning , considering the fact that he is also our class incharge he makes sure to focus on every student individually and making it a positive environment for the class. Although I don't have any dislike towards any faculty member but yes there are few teachers who sometimes do not appreciate students for their efforts.

Night Life

Placement Experience:

Final year students are eligible to appear for campus placements which starts towards the end of their 7th semester. Companies that visited for Civil Engineering: L&T, Adani, Stratview Research, PlanetSpark and several local firms. The highest packages were offered by Adani (approx 7 LPA) and L&T (6-7 LPA). Around 5-7 students received placement offers from the mentioned companies. It is important to note that a lot many students did not sit for campus placements as they had different career aspirations (government jobs, higher education, business ventures etc.) My plans were to prepare for upcoming competitive government exams as well as try my hand at something different and creative

Microtex, HCL, Wipro and many other IT companies gives us research projects and also their work as well. So, we basically have indirectly worked for them and the ones they feel can add more to their organization comes with a clear mind and take us with a package that we expect them to. So, placements are purely on performance as those who perform well are given best of placements.
