Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is designed according to the blue print laid down by the Bar Council of India. It is comprehensive and includes almost every subject of the Law Degree. The curriculum is also designed to get the students ready for the real world. It makes it mandatory for students to intern in the 4th, 6th and 8th semester. It helps the students to get in touch with the real world. However, the checking of the examinations is lenient and not that difficult.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly fees is 1,38,000 inr. There are several scholarships one can opt for. Scholarships include the Government based scholarships such as NSP and also sports based scholarships. The fees has increased significantly over the years. However, the fees does not increase over the course of the degree.

Campus Life

5

The college holds various fests for its students. The fests are hosted by separate departments in the college. For example, SPANDAN is hosted by the Journalism department and it is held in the month of December-January. Also, there is a fest named as OBLIVION which is hosted by the Engineering Department which is hosted in the month of January-February. There are other fests such as OBLIVION. These feats are generally paid for both the VIPS students and outside VIPS students. However, the prices differ. The college has variety of socieities ranging from debating societies to dance socieities. Focusing on Law department, the college has a Mooting club along with a Legal Aid Society. Similary, it has several societies like the Technical societies and hacking societies. It holds various competitions for all such societies. It has 2 dance societies, one for western (3.14) and classical dance society. It has several other societies like the Debating Society, Theatre Society, Drama Club and many more. All such societies have instagram handles which can be found easily online.

Admission

I did apply to various colleges. As a Law Student, I did give CLAT examination. However, I did not get enough marks for me to secure an NLU. I also applied to several other colleges such as Lloyd college (Noida), Amity Law College (Noida). I also appeared for MHCET which I cleared with an amazing percentile of 99.27. I did get a green light from various colleges. Nonetheless, I chose VIPS because of its locational advantages. The college is situated in Pitampura, Delhi. It is at a walking distance from Rohini Court and also is surrounded with variety of Law firms and independent advocates. The college gives us a benefit of securing internships at variety of law firms nearby. I did apply to Christ University as well (Delhi-NCR). However, I could not clear the Interview Round there. Our college takes admission through the CLAT exmaination. One needs to secure a rank between somewhere around 6000-7000 to secure a seat. Also, the college provides a reservation for Management Quota. There is also a separate quotas for Delhi students and outside Delhi students.

Faculty

The faculty is great. Super welcoming. The faculty is also super encouraging and also always ready to solve doubts. They even help in students achieving the best of everything in the best way they could. The college conducts 2 examinations: Internals and Externals. Internals are of 30 marks and conducted by the college. But the externals are of 80 marks and are conducted by the University (GGISPU) Along with these, PSDAs are also carried out. They range from debating competitions to reasearch papers. They are similar to assessments and projects. However they are very interesting and help a lot in extra curricular activites.

Night Life

4

There is no hostel facilities in our college. However, one can enjoy the day-life as well. The college is in a great place which has a lot of fooding joints outside. The cafeteria in our college offers variety of fooding. One has a whole range to choose from, from chinese to indian. However, the cafeteria is a bit on the expensive side. The library timings are from 8 am in the morning to 6 pm in the evening thats when the college closes as well.

My plans are simple that I will enroll for LLM IP program at NLU Delhi and will try my best to get admission there. Practicing and hard court struggle in courts is not my thing and so teaching in an institution is my liking and LLM gives me that option to exercise.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The law department's faculty members are highly qualified, and their teaching methods are commendable. They are extremely hardworking, and they go out of their way to give us a lot of exposure by taking us to the supreme court, high court, Dwarka district court, parliament, and other places. They frequently have several sessions with honorable justices from various courts. Our teachers put in a lot of effort and try their hardest to keep our standards to NLUs when it comes to organizing MUNS to national moot court competition.
